Primary Purpose This position is responsible for supporting corporate operational security best practices, procedures, and strategies for B&V offices and project sites, worldwide. Supports and contributes to security practices and instructions that facilitate the existing corporate security policy and which will provide a comprehensive security program and services to the corporation. Focus is on protection of persons and then on property.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and administer security policies and procedures for Black & Veatch operation in South Africa and supported regions in the area.
Develops security protocols for geographical areas of responsibility, and coordinates with local, project, or site management to implement those protocols.
Directly or indirectly supervises one or more security managers or specialist.
Handles the investigations of any house break-ins or security breaches in B&V offices or property.
Conducts house inspections for appropriate security measures and recommends security measures and then follows up to ensure appropriate security measures are put in place and working.
Develops and provides security training for all new professionals to South Africa.
Main point of contact in South Africa for SOS
Handles emergency situations for professionals in terms of medical needs
Coordinates or handles security detail for B&V executives traveling to South Africa on business travel.
Minimum Qualifications Education:
Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice or related area or equivalent experience
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years security experience. 15-20 years working experience.
Preferred Job Qualifications Force protection experience/hostile environment experience. Middle East, Far East, and South West Asia experience.
Experience in developing security and evacuation procedures. Experience in emergency management and contingency planning, proficient in handling international security issues, proficient at multi-tasking, problem solving, and negotiating. Must be physically capable of doing the job. Must posses a personality that supports coordinating/interacting with various government, and non-government organizations and local/international law enforcement. Must be able to work and be effective in a multi cultural environment. Must be able to communicate effectively with superiors, peers, and subordinates in an effective manner that facilitates accomplishing the mission.
