Externally: Clients, Government Authorities and service providers in Nigeria and other Emerging Market regions
Job Outline:
Under the direction of the Director, Emerging Markets, this position will be responsible for the development and continuing growth and maintenance of GardaWorld’s commercial and operational platform, to deliver GW’s security services to our clients in Nigeria. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Management of the commercial and operational team within Nigeria;
Provision of input on all contracts and proposals;
Review and management of all related pricing;
Management of all relevant financial responsibilities for the Nigerian operation;
Develop and maintain exceptional client interface.
The Country Manager will need to help build commerical and political relationships with the local leadership. In building these relationships, the incumbent will seek to develop further business opportunities for GardaWorld’s range of security products and therefore assist to increase turnover and profitability. The Country Manager position is a full-time Contractor role and the incumbent will be expected to be on-duty on a full-time basis in Nigeria (no rotation), with time off (off-duty) as per mutual arrangement with the Director, Emerging Markets.
The ideal candidate will be culturally interested in the region, and possess the ability to identify growth opportunities and to convert these to financial success. Day to day security operations are run by ex-military professionals and so this person, although retaining an overview, should be more focused on business and commercial development.
Competences:
3 years minimum senior management experience in Nigeria
Very strong commercial capabilities with emphasis on efficiency while having an entrepreneurial mindsetin an evolving business environment
Strong written English skills, with extensive experiece in producing technical security documents
Strong understanding of contracts
Exceptional attention to detail, particularly in relation to oversight of billing and invoicing
Exceptional client interface and manpower management skills
Exceptional verbal communication skills
Fully competent in the all standard MS Office programs, especially Excel spreadsheets and Powerpoint
Prior active military duty required with minimum of 10 years of service with 2 operational tours in hostile environments; Warrant Office or Commissioned Officer desired but not mandatory
Bachelor degree in security management or international affairs or equivalent required
Masters degree desired
Competent in developing pricing for contracts
