Security Manager , Canada


Job Description:

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Security Manager will be responsible for the overall security and well being of guests & employees at The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge.

Responsibilities
Leading and coaching the Security Team to achieve guest service and colleague satisfaction results, through the application of all Corporate and Property standards and policies.
Managing incident reporting and follow-up, including liaising with the Executive Committee, Comptroller, insurers and guests to ensure efficient resolution of potential claims.
Develop and ensuring procedures are maintained for dealing with intoxicated person, thefts, evictions, cash escorts and lost and found articles.
Preparing appropriate purchase orders for the purchase of Security & office supplies, etc.
Investigate and follow-up with regard to any complaints or reports made by guests or staff.
Overseeing the operation of the security department, including (but not limited to the following): payroll, budgeting, administration, conducting colleague evaluations, hiring & recruiting, training, and scheduling.
Acting as liaison with outside emergency services in relation to Security issues: Parks Canada, RCMP, Alberta Sheriffs, and local Fire services, and ensuring positive professional relationships.
Manage the Wildlife control measures on FJPL property.
Managing the operational use of pagers and radios.
Managing in-room safes and procedures.
Representing the hotel if and when required, in court (criminal or civil).
Liaising with Staff Housing on security breaches within residence.

Environmental Responsibilities
Ensuring all paper is recycled and sensitive documents shredded for recycling
Disposing of garbage and or recycling on the property, and within the Guest/Staff rooms
Closing and securing doors to prevent heat loss in the cold season, and close excess lighting where suitable to assist in lowering power consumption and operation costs
Job Requirements:

Qualifications:
Must possess valid provincial Security Services and Investigator license; or, able to attain a license under the Alberta Security Services and Investigators Act within 30 days of start date
Ability to deal effectively with the public in conflict situations
Proficient in Property Manager and Microsoft Office products, specifically Word and Excel
Proven ability to manage and prioritize critical tasks and work well under pressure & stressful situations
Calm, responsible manner and effective communicator – oral and written
Must be responsible, flexible and reliable
Previous Safety/Security experience is required
No criminal record & willingness to accept a criminal records check
Fire fighter training an asset
WHMIS and other safety courses an asset
Valid Advanced Level II/Emergency Medical Responder first aid and Level ‘C’ Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is an asset
Must meet the minimum qualifications of the Gallup Manager Perceiver Interview
Must posses a Valid Alberta Drivers License and abstract.
