Requirements:
3-year Diploma/Degree in Policing, Law, Criminology. Risk Mgmt or Security.
Code EB driver's licence.
PSIRA Grade A reg with min 5 years related mgmt exp in law enforcement. higher education security. military or security env.
Ability to lead an in house &outsourced security team and understand the unique role of security services in a complex & diverse environment.
Responsibilities:
Ensure safety and protection of all on campus.
Build a participative working relationship with the campus community in crime prevention.
Manage and lead: investigations. mgmt of electronic security equipment. emergency response & traffic & parking mgmt.
Provide safeguarding for events & organisation & implement safety & security measures to set rules & regulations.
Investigate internal cases & advise mgmt on remedial measures.
Administer, direct, & review security operation programs.
Advise mgmt on best security practices in accordance with security and institutional policies & relevant legislation.
Analyse stats and reports to determine how to make premises & grounds safe and secure.
Develop methods to improve security policies. processes. and practices and recommend changes to management.
Design & dev specialized training to guide security officers and others through security decisions and actions.
Represent the organization in formal meetings with outside organisations on matters dealing with security and protective services.
