Staff Mentors/Senior - South Sudan [AFRICAP]

Trainer (Malou and Owinykibul);

Malou Duties:
Provide guidance and expertise on training management to the Commandant of the
Malou Officer Training Center Assists the Commandant and Staff in developing
detailed training plans to support the Program of Instruction. Advise;
coach, mentor and assist the Commandant and his Staff/subordinates including
the Deputy Commander and Senior Instructor. Provide guidance, expertise
and technical assistance in managing an Officer Training Program in order to
enhance SPLA’s ability to self-sustain this and future courses. Assist in
developing future programs IAW the SPLA Objective Force 2017 Leader Development
model. Work collaboratively with the Commandant, staff and the
Directorate of Training in integrating civilian education objectives within the
Officer Education System. Perform other duties and requirements as directed by
project management.

Owinykibul
Duties: Provide guidance and expertise on training management to the
Commandant of the Nagachek Military Academy (OBC). Assist the Commandant
and Staff in developing detailed training plans to support the Program of
Instruction. Advise, coach, mentor and assist the Commandant and his
Staff/subordinates including the Deputy Commander and Senior Instructor.
Provide guidance, expertise and technical assistance in managing an Officer
Training Program in order to enhance SPLA’s ability to self-sustain this and
future courses. Assist in developing future programs IAW the SPLA
Objective Force 2017 Leader Development model. Work collaboratively with
the Commandant, staff and the Directorate of Training in integrating civilian
education objectives within the Officer Education System. Perform other
duties and requirements as directed by project management.

Qualifications for
both positions: Former field grade combat arms officer with 10-15 years
minimum operations and training experience at battalion level or higher is
required. Should have previous experience within USATRADOC, particularly within
Officer Education System programs. Must have experience as a commander,
staff officer and advisor or exchange officer. Graduate of the Command
& General Staff College or equivalent is required. Required to have
experience working in an OCONUS, austere environment, preferably in
Africa. Possess an understanding of the need to conduct yourself in a
diplomatic and culturally sensitive manner. Knowledge of Sudanese
geography, economy, political structure and a familiarity of the South Sudanese
armed forces is preferred.

Desired: CTC and Operations Center experience.
Must be capable of moderate physical exertion to include the ability to lift
and carry items of up to fifty (50) pounds and be able to conduct travel and
work within an equatorial environment with a limited support
infrastructure. Should be proficient with personal computers and capable
of using Microsoft Office products such as Word, PowePoint and Excel.
