Overall purpose of job:
The incumbent will provide proportionate and strategic security solutions that fit with business aims and protect staff and the assets of the company. Will provide a safe and secure crime free environment for both staff and clients and will manage and assist on investigations into crime and security breaches.
Conduct Risk Assessments, Security Surveys and propose Security Policies and Standard Operating Procedures and Hand Carries procedures for all departments.
Core accountabilities:
Provide security advice to management and staff on the protection of people, assets, information and reputation.
Ensure that operations are conducted in accordance with Global Corporate security, insurance and risk standards, local/international laws and regulations.
Monitor, react and advise on security developments (generally) and security incidents (specifically).
Provide security risk assessments, advice and support to management and business operations. Advise on solutions to mitigate or manage security threats and risks that fit with business aims.
Devise and conduct a programme of security reviews and security risk assessments of allocated Christie’s sites in accordance with organisational policy.
Provide support and advice to business projects, including design/specification and project management of security systems installations at new office locations.
Ensure that appropriate security policies, plans, procedures and training are utilised to deal with the possible range of threats, and ensure that these are reviewed on a regular basis.
Promote security awareness and instil a culture of collective and individual responsibilities for practising good security at all times.
Assist in the development (of security aspects) of crises and business continuity plans. Act as focal point for out of hour’s security advice and assistance, and take whatever steps necessary to resolve emergency situations.
Provide advice and direct support for the protection of executive committee members and other staff at risk, especially when travelling to high risk destinations.
Manage all aspects of manned guarding/protection operations, including contractors.
Undertake other tasks as directed by the Chief Security Officer (International) and Regional Operations and Administration Manager - Asia
Liaise with law enforcement agencies.
Conduct risk assessment surveys in Asia as directed and act as on-site security supervisor for events, exhibitions, previews as required.
Comply with and contribute to Christie’s Health and Safety policy.
Skills/competences required:
Investigative ability
Working knowledge and experience of alarm systems, CCTV, access control and fire
Good communications skills, written and verbal, in English, Cantonese and Mandarin
Good computer skills
Risk assessment and security survey experience
Knowledge of the insurance industry and its workings
Role requirements
Relevant corporate security industry experience in the areas of security risk assessment and management, security management, security planning and preventative security measures.
Understanding of risk management principles.
Demonstrated experience and exposure at national and international arenas dealing with security related issues.
Investigations with civil and criminal court experience, employment law and internal corporate staff investigations. Interviewing, evidence gathering, statement taking and report writing.
Experience of operating in or with a commercial organisation.
Security management, investigative, or law enforcement background.
Managerial experience
Proven leadership ability/experience.
Effective and pragmatic, analytical, conceptual and critical thinking skills.
Effective communicator and efficient change agent at all levels of the organisation.
Ability to work under pressure and act decisively and appropriately in unpredictable environment.
