Overview:
Due to contract award, SOC is recruiting a Range Master /Fire Arms Instructors.
Responsibilities:
Manage firing range and supervise weapons re-qualification training in overseas locations.
The RMFI is designated as support (S).
The RMFI is required to attend the non-PSS training course and the Basic Field Firearms Officers Course (BFFOC).
The RMFI shall maintain weapons qualification on the Glock, M4, Shotgun, M240, M249, M203, and M2. Qualification is required only for weapons issued for the Task Order to which the RMFI is assigned.
Plan and coordinate weapons re-qualification training
Ensure that all equipment, weapons, ammunition, and materials are on-hand for training.
Conduct re-qualification firing.
Qualifications:
U.S. Citizen/TCN/LN at least 21 years of age
Level 3 English proficiency.
Three (3) years experience as a range master.
Provide verifiable evidence of successful training and work experience
Evidence of formal certification as an instructor in necessary areas, such as firearms, EOD, etc.
Worked on other U.S., federal, state, or local government training assignments
Security Certified Firearms Instructor.
Shall be a graduate of the Basic Field Firearms Officer Course.
Physical and Mental requirements:
Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to regularly walk, run, bend, and crawl, while wearing full protective gear.
Possess binocular vision, correctable to 20/30 (Snellen) and shall not be color blind.
Be capable of hearing ordinary conversation.
Be capable of satisfying the physical efficiency battery scores used by the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC). These standards can be found on the internet at www.fletc.gov/training/programs/physical-techniques-division/requirements/ documents/physical-efficiency-battery/peb.html. Seventy (70%) is the minimum passing standard in each category.
Be willing to undergo a validated psychological screening suitability test prior to acceptance.
Capacity to think, concentrate and focus over long periods of time
Capacity to reason and make sound decisions
Ability to read complex documents in English language
Ability to write complex documents in the English language
Capacity to express thoughts orally (e.g., accurately, quick and loudly convey spoken instructions to workers)
