As part of our continued success and growth the company seeks a Casual/On-Call Operations Controller to join our Poole-based Operations Response Centre. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic global organisation that provides cutting edge services to the Maritime and International Travel Security Sectors.
Working 8 and 12 hour shifts (one per week guaranteed) within a 24/7/365 Response Centre, and reporting to the Response Centre Supervisor, the successful candidate will be required to cover in the event of holiday, sickness, low resources or continued learning and development.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
Monitor continual situational reports from individuals and vessels around the globe, and accurately record data into a range of specialised software
Be familiar with client-specific procedures as well as Company emergency procedures
Coordinate testing and recording of daily Ship Security Alert Systems
Ability to undertake additional tasks and projects as required
Develop an understanding of the business and how the Centre integrates with and supports individual business units
The ideal candidate will have the ability to operate within a fast moving environment and be able to adapt to ever-changing operational requirements
Skills & Experience
Robust IT skills, in MS Office and within bespoke software systems
Good worldwide geographical knowledge, with an interest in worldwide current affairs
Excellent communication skills, with patience to work through barriers where English may not be the first language
Meticulous note taking, record keeping and organisation
Dedication, flexibility and reliability are key
Operational and/or logistical experience would be an asset, particularly from a maritime/military environment
Ability to work in a growing and fluid environment
Strong team player
Able to deal with varying workloads as situations demand
