Reporting to the Vice President of Global Security, the Regional Security Manager – China is responsible for providing security leadership across a wide range of services for people, assets and operations across China. This includes support for sales and marketing, manufacturing, and research. The position is also responsible for providing lawful, objective and thorough support for internal and external investigations.This position requires an experienced senior security partner responsible for planning, organizing, directing and delivering Global Security leadership and support within the emerging Chinese market. You will have demonstrated an ability to perform under pressure and respond rapidly to breaking situations and sound, proven judgment under pressure is a must. This includes proactive programs which protect the assets and interests of the company (broadly defined as people, products, reputation, intellectual property and property/operations). This position will also have a strong dotted line reporting relationship to regional divisional/line management in China.
Responsibilities include -
•Provide strategic and tactical security leadership and support to China operations that align to and enable the business strategy.
•Establish and maintain seamless interface with management and operations.
•Support the analysis of security exposures and implement cost effective passive, reactive, and proactive programs to address these exposures.
•Conduct/support internal and external investigations within China, many of which have the potential to affect the safety of our products, patients, and employees, as well as how the business is viewed (reputation/brand).
•Develop and maintain close liaison with government, industry, security, and intelligence professionals within China.
•Provide guidance and support to site operations within China ensuring that Global Security Group (GSG) worldwide standards, policies and procedures are implemented and maintained.
•Provide support as directed in the areas of Executive Protection, Crisis Management, Site Security Surveys, Travel Security and Risk Assessment / Risk Analysis.
•Collaborate with local, regional and company-wide global security and other elements of the company, effectively functioning in a matrixed organization.
This position will manage and provide direction to security managers responsible for providing security support for China.
Requirements:
•Experienced security professional: minimum of 5-10 years of corporate security experience and/or 5-10 years of law enforcement with China.
•Fluent Mandarin Chinese and strong verbal and written English language skills.
•Bachelor’s Degree required; graduate degree and international experience desirable.
•Professional accreditation preferred (CPP, CFE, etc.).
•Demonstrated leadership skills, ability to inspire confidence, and experience in working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, countries of origin, and levels within corporate structure.
•Sound judgment, vision, initiative and drive. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
•Ability to work effectively in complex and often ambiguous situations under tight deadlines and competing demands. Proven track record and experience in change management preferred. Ability to function independently and exercise sound judgment with the highest integrity.
•Strong background in investigations.
•Ability to proactively identify security issues and customize & implement solutions that minimize/eliminate risks.
