The Protection Security Detail (PSD) Second in Command (2IC) will support the PSD Team Leader (PSD TL) in the command and control of individual High and Low Profile rural and urban PSD missions Iraq wide. The DTL, in the absence of the PSD TL and under the command of the Project Manager and Security Ops Manager will be responsible for the smooth running of the PSD by applying sound leadership principles and judgement at all times.
The role will work on a 58 days in country and 25 days out of country rotation.
Role Responsibility:
To support the PSD TL in the command and control of the PSD, to ensurethat team members are adequately informed, skilled, equipped and supervised to conduct their duties safely, in compliance with; the MNF-I and the Host Nation’s rules and regulations, G4S policies and SOPs.
Take on the full responsibilities of Team Leader when on leave or if deemed necessary.
Ensurethat G4S Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and relevant US FRAGOs’ are followed at all times.
Gatherand analyse information / intelligence required for the planning, rehearsal and safe execution of a PSD mission.
Submit, in time, the required documentation for the approval of PSD missions according to G4S SOPs, CONOC, the MNF-I and the Host Nation’s rules and regulations.
Liaise/ meet with the client in an appropriate manner.
Prepareand conduct briefings to PSD team members, client(s) and Management during the planning and execution of a PSD mission.
Executeany other tasks commensurate to the PSD DTL’s role as deemed appropriate by the TL, Project Manager or Ops Manager.
Liaise with the TL and Medical Operations & Training Managerregarding any special medical requirements.
Execute any other medical tasks as deemed appropriate by the Senior G4S Medical team.
To provide immediate emergency medical support to personnel under your responsibility.
If required liaise and arrange evacuation to the next level of medical care.
Provide a detailed handover of any patients/casualties to the next level of care.
Ensure all medical equipment and supplies are maintained, serviced and in date.
Keep up to date with all professional qualifications.
Reportall incidents according to the MNF-I and the Host Nation’s rules and regulations, G4S policy and SOPs.
Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the PSD. Where appropriate escalate these to TL for visibility.
Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise PSD team members, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
Assist the TL to Plan, coordinate, administrate and execute the day to day team administration and training.
Accuratelycompile and on time submit the required PSD team returns.
Conductperformance evaluations as per G4S directives and mentor all personnel through formal channels.
Maintaina high standard of welfare, morale and discipline within the team.

The Ideal Candidate:
Minimum of 7 years exemplary military, police or law enforcement services.
Experience in working in hostile environments.
Experience in the training of multinational personnel.
Qualifications in English and Mathematics or Military education equivalent.
Service Junior Leaders course.
Recognised PSD course or military experience in a hostile environment.
MIRA Qualified Medic
Close Protection trained at a minimum of level 3 NVQ
SIA licence holder
Able to use level 3 medical kits.
Minimum of 12 month operational PSD experience in Iraq in the previous 3 years.
Experience rendering medical assistance in hostile environments
Commercial field experience in private security.
