Personnel assigned to conduct visitor reception and badging operations will work in the Installation Services Building. Personnel assigned to provide security support to the Conference Center of the Americas (CCA) will work in the CCA. Personnel assigned to security escort duties will work in the USSOUTHCOM HQ building.
Requirements include, but are not limited to:*Execute Command security escort support for SOUTHCOM HQ facility cleaning and maintenance, special events, special projects, and work projects where the scope of the escort duties exceed USSOUTHCOM s capacity to support.
*Assist in the implementation of systems to ensure policies and procedures for the protection of classified
information are consistent with the interest of national security.
*Coordinate with USSOUTHCOM staff for conference and visit badge requirements.
*Brief visitors on USSOUTHCOM security procedures to include but not limited to escort requirements, protection of classified information, and use of media and electronic devices.
*Analyze badge data and prepare reports of missing, lost, or damaged badges. Analyze operations and functional systems with an eye toward improvement and enhancement of operations.
*Create security badges.
*Maintain expendable supplies inventory and submit orders to the Technical Task Manager for approval
and purchase in a timely manner to ensure uninterrupted badging operations.
*Coordinate with US Army ASA for monthly preventive maintenance and emergency service and repair of
the LENEL access control system badging computer system.
*Provide security support to the Conference Center of the Americas (CCA) by ensuring security
clearances for classified conferences are transferred prior to the event date and inputted into the Command database
(SCEMS).
*Coordinate with the SOUTHCOM event point of contact prior to the conference to ensure all the
required security protocols are in place for sound attenuation, guards, bag screening, mobile device accountability
and the secure removal and storage of classified conference materials in accordance with DoD 5200.1-R.
*Establish an evaluation process to determine current and future upgrades to the Security Management
SCEMS database and badging systems. Recommend procedures and strategies to improve efficiency and enhance
operations.
*Perform physical security assessments (PSA) for all buildings and workspaces under USSOUTHCOM
control to ensure compliance with command and DoD physical security policies and procedures. Provide PSA in
memorandum format referencing applicable policies and regulations.
BS/BA degree desirable.
Requires 2-5 years experience.
Knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) Enterprise Architecture framework (e.g., SIPR, NIPR and Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications Systems (JWICS) networks.
Knowledge of governing laws, regulations, precedents, and directives governing DoD security programs.
Become certified to operate the LENEL access control system and have experirnce with Wonderware software.
Proficient using basic Microsoft Office software applications (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access).
