Qualification:
The Head of Security has accountability for the definition, implementation and management of strategic and operational security business-wide, ensuring the reduction in the number and gravity of security incidents, reduction of business losses and protection of assets and people
Managing a €multi-million budget, this role manages a large direct and indirect team responsible for coordinating the security activities from the various business units ensuring full alignment of standards, KPIs and practices across the group.
Responsibilities
· Develops and sets Security general approach and strategy
· Evaluates actual performance against targets/strategy and prioritizes on the immediate steps to be taken within the Security area
· Provides professional input to existing, Group-wise, corporate security policies and procedures; constantly challenging security policies and procedures in order to keep pace with industry development
· Monitors the industry and main players and proactively seeks and initiate improvement of methods and practices used
· Develops and sets annual operations goals and plans, whilst considering priorities and available resources, in alignment with senior management.
· Turns the annual plan into activities, for estimating fixed and variable costs and for negotiating measures and costs, upon necessity
· Ensures the process for timely submission of security incident reports
· Coordinates the elaboration of the security related topics within the Annual Report
· Leads and conducts regular business divisional coordination meetings, in order to maintain a consistent approach
· Conducting site assessments, supervising physical security set-ups in the facilities/project areas and ensuring minimum reporting standards on findings
· Reducing the security incidents and mitigating their impact on operations through analysis and evaluation with provision of system enhancements
· Defining technical standards and criteria for the management of operational risks, as well as for identifying and implementing of mitigation measures
· Coordinating security-related contracts and KPIs and maintaining strong liaison with Procurement on performance of outsourced security services
· Ensuring a detailed annual audit plan is prepared, other audits are conducted and findings are properly documented and implemented
· Assesses the performance of the staff within the Department and advises the Director HSSE on the outcome of the assessment
· Manages and develops the team to provide relevant expertise and support via recruitment, assessment, training and management of direct-reporting staff and other security personnel in conjunction with direct reports as required
· Develops, in conjunction with HR, a structured career development path to ensure consistent development of security personnel
Candidate Profile
Experience
· At least 15 years of work experience required; ideally with a significant period in the extractive industries
· Operational up and downstream oil and gas industry background is an advantage
· Ideally, at least 3 years in a leadership position
· Experience monitoring and directing staff security and safety-related tasks, including training
· Experience living, travelling and working effectively in insecure and austere environments
· Excellent English spoken and written communication skills required, knowledge of Romanian language is desired
· University degree in a relevant field
· Further professional qualifications and certifications are an advantage
· Deep knowledge of relevant national and international regulations
· Deep knowledge of security methodologies, principles and best practices
Soft skills:
