Position Description:
The Security Specialist shall, as Local Elements (LE’s), in accordance with EKMS directives, conform to proper receipt, handling, storage and destruction of COMSEC materials hand-receipted to those work centers requiring such materials in the performance of their O&M responsibilities.
Provide Unclassified/Classified Information Assurance services for telephone switches and other non-network devices.
Enforce IA standards and policies.
Ensure the availability and integrity of systems while denying the adversaries access to the same information and systems.
Provide Facility Services Support to coordinate and administer NCTAMS LANT Djibouti security programs under the direction and guidance of the Command Security Manager.
Duties Include but are Not Limited to the Following:
Performing proper receipt of COMSEC materials, storing all classified materials in a GSA-approved container, handling COMSEC materials, performing inventories (safe) when required, properly destroying COMSEC materials, COMSEC destruction reports, ensuring destruction of COMSEC materials in a timely manner (in accordance with COMSEC editions), using proper destruction methods and proper documentation of the destruction of COMSEC SECTION C materials.
Individual shall know what constitutes a COMSEC incident and the proper reporting requirements.
The individual shall not perform unit level maintenance on CCI but will return all inoperative CRYPTO equipment to the EKMS Manager for further disposition.
Provide technical and operational support to protect systems against unauthorized access and inadvertent damage or modification.
Act as the focal point for implementation of all non-network Information Security (INFOSEC) matters to include accreditations and establishment of local security policies.
Enforce Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) compliance and reporting, and assist and coordinate with intelligence and judicial agencies.
Ensure RETINA software scans are conducted monthly on all laptops/workstations.
Provide assistance as required to support DIACAP documentation development.
Ensure the evaluation of all components of the sites telephone system for security risks.
Develop and implement security programs to protect and defend information and facilities including Physical Security and Loss Prevention, Force Protection Antiterrorism, Personnel and Information Security, Industrial Security, and Information Assurance
.Required Skills & Experience:
7+ years of experience in Communication Security, Information Security/Assurance and Facility Security
Must have A+, Network+, or SSCP.
Must have one of the following four: GSEC, Security+, SCNP or SSCP.
Proficiency with PCs and MicroSoft Office Suite
Preferred Certifications:
CISSP
CCIE
CCNP
