Description
KeyPoint Government Solutions is seeking advisors and consultants for international criminal justice sector reform initiatives.
We encourage current, former, and retired corrections professionals with any of the following skill sets to apply:
Prison operations, probation and parole systems, corrections administration and human resources, corrections training, security threat groups, correctional facilities management, classification and records, prisoner programs, prisoner transportation, emergency response, strategic planning, corrections logistics, correctional medical services and community corrections.
Essential Functions:
Corrections Advisors deploy internationally to provide a broad range of advice and technical assistance on corrections issues including; the confinement, safety, health, and protection of inmates, and developing and/or strengthening structures, facilities and programs, with regard for human rights. Advisors may reform and develop the local civil police and corrections systems or create a new system where none exists.
Experience:
Current employment in corrections or recently retired/separated within the last five (5) years
8+ years of work experience in corrections or law enforcement with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in correctional service
Negotiating, interpersonal and leadership skills
Excellent analytical and communication skills
The ability and willingness to train other individuals in your area(s) of expertise
Prior experience working abroad and foreign language proficiency is a plus
Current certification in first aid, less-than-lethal systems and chemical agents
Education:
A level of formal education (associates degree or higher) or an advanced degree or law enforcement command training may be required
Graduation from federal or state-certified corrections, probation/parole academy of at least 120 hours in length
Clearance/Citizenship:
Applicants must be willing to submit to a background investigation -- minimally, these positions will require a favorable moderate risk public trust determination, and some positions may require a higher level federal security clearance
Other requirements:
Ability to communicate in English (Foreign Service Institute standard level 4 for U.S. citizens in writing, reading comprehension and speaking or level 3 for third country nationals in English writing, reading comprehension and speaking)
Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to operate a standard transmission vehicle (an International Driving Permit for third country nationals)
The ability to pass requisite physical, medical and psychological tests appropriate to assigned task/country
Valid U.S. passport (for non – U.S. citizens, valid passport from their country of citizenship)
Must pass a post-offer/pre-deployment multi-panel drug test
Job Location/Travel:
All positions will be deployed overseas and candidates must be willing to work overseas on missions of varying length
