G4S Secure Solutions SA, a leading global integrated security solutions company has a vacancy for a Payroll Manager, based at Head Office in Hatfield – Pretoria.
Reporting to the National Payroll and Labour Manager, the main purpose of this role is to ensure the effective and accurate management of the payroll department and associated functions and deadlines.
This position requires at least 3-5 years relevant management experience within a payroll environment.
The successful incumbent is a self-starter with a proven track record in delivering on customer expectations, demonstrates a high degree of commercial acumen and is able to exercise sound judgement in the pursuit of the achievement of the goals of the organisation. The incumbent will be expected to be results driven and to live the values of the organisation.
Role Responsibility:

Performance Standards
Management of monthly salaried payroll 
  • Oversee and manage payment of various benefit schemes i.e.  UIF, Funeral Benefit, Medical Aid, Provident Fund,
  • Review Salaries payroll duties including Loan Deductions, Reference Changes, SIRA, Timesheet Entry and Stop pays accurately.
  • Sign off and recon Balancing of Medical Aid.
  • Review and ensure input is captured correctly
  • Manage salaries reconciliations according to approved processes
  • Ensure that company policies are adhered to.
  • Ensure that all processes are followed as per the month end procedures document.
Management of monthly wage payroll 
  • Manage and review wage payroll duties including Loan Deductions, Reference Changes, PSIRA, Timesheet Entry and Stop pays accurately.
  • Manage various benefit schemes i.e.       UIF, Funeral Benefit, Medical Aid, Provident Fund,
  • Review and  sign off wage reconciliations according to approved processes
  • Ensure that all processes are followed as per the month end procedures document.
Effective and accurate management of third party payments and Bargaining Council reconciliations and processes
  • Review and manage preparation of all third party payments.
  • Review and check all reconcilations and balancing reports, identifying areas of deficiency and make corrections
  • Liaison with and management of third party providers
  • Manage and perform bargaining council reconciliations and submissions as per procedures
  • Manage relationship with Council
  • Manage all associated procedures and submissions in terms of SARS, Council and legislated bodies
Staff management and development 
  • All team members have clearly defined job profiles  aligned to manager profile
  • Regular goal review completed to assess achievement of results
  • Support, coaching and mentoring is continuously provided to ensure that objectives are met
  • Completed development plans for each employee
  • Appropriate allocation of resources to meet operational demands
  • Ensure that events/activities taking place in team are effectively communicated within team and to other teams requiring the information
  • Ensure adequate succession plan to meet ongoing and anticipated business requirements


The Ideal Candidate:

Key Requirements
  • BCom Degree / Diploma in Payroll Management / Relevant accounting degree or diploma
  • 3-5 Years relevant management experience within a payroll environment
  • Working knowledge of VIP (ODBC and BIM Reports) essential
  • Experience with processing of Wages and Salaried Payrolls essential
  • Knowledge of Bargaining Councils would be advantageous
