Description
Minimum of 12 years experience in US military (pay grade of E-7 or higher) and have participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom or Operation Enduring Freedom. Six years experience as an ammunition technical specialist and be qualified and certified per the requirements listed in Chapter 9 of Marine Corps Order (MCO) P8020.10B, Marine Corps Ammunition Management and Explosives Safety Policy Program. Familiar with military doctrine, regulations, techniques and procedures relating to supply and explosive safety programs. Familiar with the Marine Corps Lessons Learned program and process.

Supports ammunition, ordnance and explosive safety programs at the Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) level and is responsible for supporting the MEF Environmental and Explosives Safety Program. Has full knowledge of the differences amongst the explosive requirements and policies of the uniformed services and specific knowledge of those differences in the operational environment. Key tasks:

• Provides technical advice, guidance, and assistance on storage, handling, transportation, and the employment of explosives
• Provides recommendations, advice and guidance on explosive programs for operations to plan, budget, and control, determine, and evaluate costs associated with storage and accountability of explosives
• Supports the initial planning and maintenance of explosive safety programs across the MEF subordinate commands

• Assists with the day-to-day operations and monitoring of the command and all subordinate commands explosive safety programs
• Maintains familiarity with Hazards of Electromagnetic Radiation to Ordnance (HERO) and the implications of the use of the variety of electronic equipment in the operational environment on ordnance storage, handling and employment

Performs technical and operational analysis and evaluation on procedures, systems, and user problems to refine or conduct analysis of significant factors. Plans and conducts studies of alternative applications and prepares design proposals to meet customer needs. Develops detailed system specifications from which programs are written. Develops system modifications, specifications, and installation and support plans. May coordinate with users to define problems, data availability, and requirements. Participates in the solution of a variety of system problems.
Qualifications
Candidates must have 6 years experience with a a BS degree. Must be Proficient in Microsoft office suite. Graduate of a Service entry and intermediate level EOD courses. Advanced level training preferred.

Candidates will be subject to a security investigation and must be able to meet the eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain a minimum of security clearance issued by the U.S. Government.
