Description
MTEQ’s Technical Services Division supports the US Army RDECOM CERDEC Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate in Ft. Belvoir, VA. We are seeking a competent, highly valued Physical Security Specialist/Antiterrorism Officer to support our customers growing needs in the Security Branch. This is a full-time position. This position requires an active DoD clearance therefore US Citizenship is mandatory.Description

Responsible for the planning, development and implementation of physical security policies and procedures, emergency and contingency preparedness planning for one of the US Army’s major research and development installations. Responsible for the thoughtful and continuing analysis of existing protective measures, careful evaluation of the measures necessary and practicable that maintain security at the desired level and tailoring security to the needs of the installation. Plans, coordinates and recommends the installation of physical security systems, which include access control, monitoring equipment, video surveillance systems,
alarm equipment and other security measures deemed essential. Conducts formal and informal physical security surveys and inspections for the organization, which includes an arms and ammunition storage facility. Responsible for the key control program for the entire directorate. Able to execute the Anti-Terrorism and Force Protection program for the organization. Responsible for a 16 member security guard force and a state of the art badge and access control system. Ensures that physical security planning and programming is a continuing process and that all security measures employed complement and supplement each other.

The right candidate will have an extensive background of physical security operations, emergency operations management, antiterrorism practices and principles and law enforcement/security operations. Uses a multilayered approach when planning for physical security systems. Strong performer who obtains results. Goal oriented and able to handle multiple tasks in a timely manner. Accomplished in researching, compiling and analyzing data, planning requirements and modifying procedures to enhance the organizations’ effectiveness.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of Defense Investigative Agency, Department of Defense, Department of the Army regulations and policies governing physical security and the Army Force Protection and Antiterrorism Programs.
Knowledge of physical standards, policies and procedures governing Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Facilities.
Knowledge of state of the art physical and technical security devices and techniques.
Knowledge of FIPS 201 and HSPD-12 security standards governing Personal Identity Verification of Federal Employees and Contractors.
Knowledge of and the ability to manage and supervise a DOD Security Guard Force conducive to the security of a controlled restricted area.
Knowledge and ability to conduct security inspections and surveys.
Skilled in technical writing including developing, drafting and reviewing policy and operational procedures.
Experienced and comfortable using a variety of computer software to include MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point and MS Access.
