POSITION SUMMARY:Under the supervision of the Security Supervisor, the Security Officer, Lead will perform a mix of administrative and access control related functions. Provide leadership and technical direction to Security Officer Biometric Clerks in the Personnel Services department. Work to be performed in overseas locations as well as in the United States.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
Supervise and training subordinate staff members on office policies and procedures developing your staff, mentoring, motivating your staff, individually and as a group; understanding and supporting diversity; and establishing an effective team meeting goals set forth by Security Supervisor.
•Conducts badging and access control procedures to insure all required employees are in compliance with established SOPs and base access policies.
•Work closely with department managers and supervisory personnel to collect and maintain up to date information in an automated database.
•Interface with installation and screening cell security representatives, assisting with coordination of all security access issues in accordance with the customer’s requirements.
•Work with site management and the Force Protection Screening Cell supervisor to insure site badging requirements are enforced.
•Establish and maintain a database to track and monitor assigned base access ID cards and restricted area access badges.
•Establishes and maintains effective working relationships
•Processing Other Country Nationals (OCN), Host Country and Local National (LN) workers, guests and others requiring installation access.
•Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
Works with standard office equipment.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Applicants should be aware that this position involves travel to a potentially dangerous environment. Applicant must be able to meet strict physical fitness requirements defined by the Government Program Office and will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE-ex: Kevlar helmet, body armor, etc)
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
Job assignments will involve the conduct of work in out-of-doors areas with exposure to extreme climatic conditions. Work will require lifting up to 35 lbs; stooping; climbing; prolonged standing; prolonged sitting. Personal Protective Equipment is required when applicable. Such equipment includes but is not limited to head; hand; foot; torso; respiratory; vision, and hearing protection.
Required Experience: Education/Certifications: Two years related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.A minimum of High School graduate or equivalent.
Must Possess the ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET level clearance.
Experience:
Strong organizational skills. Ability to work with very diverse workforce. Excellent communication and writing skills are also required along with a working knowledge of computer operations to include spreadsheet, database, word processing and presentation applications. A strong ability to work independent and as a member of a robust team. Applicants must be US Citizens and those selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Possess valid US drivers license, not suspended or revoked.
