Job Description
Manages the security function within assigned area of responsibility, typically a geographic area with multiple project or employee locations by providing risk assessment, mitigation strategy, oversight and general protection for the company assets to include employee safety, vital intellectual property used in e-commerce, other assets to include money, accounts receivable, physical property, proprietary information and claims or rights of action. Responsible for developing and implementing the organization’s security policies, procedures, and programs to ensure personnel and property protection that comply with government guidelines and standards.

Maintains knowledge of security and safety policies and procedures, performing assigned duties in a safe manner, and, if supervising others, has responsibility for the safety of those being supervised ensuring compliance with established safety policies, procedures,and
safe work habits. This includes oversight, protection, and response for violations of company ethics policy, both inside and outside the enterprise, to include dishonesty, fraud and conflict of interest, workplace violence, subversion and sabotage.

Provides oversight, counsel, planning, and response to kidnapping or hostage taking of company employees or sub contractors.

Provides travel information, country assessments, security intelligence, and assistance to all corporate travelers. Responds to contingency events including bomb threats, sabotage and severe weather conditions through on-site security force or with the assistance of government law enforcement agencies.

Provides investigative expertise for fraud, bomb threat, theft, embezzlement, ethics violations, sexual harassment, senior management issues, and other alleged wrongdoing. When directed, conducts investigations to protect organization assets, loss control including audits and inquiries within the Industrial Security department to ensure compliance with client policies and procedures. May coordinate and administer background checks and security clearances.

Provides countermeasure planning and management support through vulnerability analysis for engineering, procurement, and construction projects in domestic and overseas locations. Recommends and implements procedures and systems for visitor control, employee identification, and safeguard of organization facilities, equipments, materials, and employee property. Provides oversight and advice on the use of both proprietary and contact guard forces.

Provides oversight, review, audit, surveys, and recommendations concerning security training, security awareness, residential security, office and project security, airport security, vehicular movement and route selection, counter surveillance, and threat assessments in overseas locations. Maintains liaison with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.

Provides support to corporate crisis management program. Provides support to business continuity operations. Conducts auditing within the security clearance department to ensure compliance with client policies and procedures. Manages investigations and ensures employee security. Supervises Site security personnel and ensures compliance with theater and Program management’s directives. Responsible for developing and implementing force protection strategies and plans on the project level. Conducts security surveys and trains subordinate staff.

Basic Job Requirements Bachelors’ degree in related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and 11 years directly related experience is required. Elevated criminal background screening applies. Must have or be able to obtain Secret Clearance. Experience conducting formal inquiries regarding fraud & loss or any criminal act or violations required. Demonstrated knowledge of basic interview and investigative techniques and written reports as related to security incidents required. Formal reporting and oral presentation skills required.

Must be knowledgeable of anti-terrorism force protection (ATFP) procedures and practices. Familiar with DFAR and standard contracting practices.

Position may include travel into in a war zone or contingency environment with harsh and dangerous working and living conditions, including lifting and carrying 25 pounds of personal protective equipment for extended periods of time. To ensure safety, health and security measures within the contract are met, all employees shall be literate in English (read, write, speak and understand) or have a translator available.

Other Job Requirements Requires problem solving capabilities and ability to react quickly in sensitive situations.

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form.

Computer skills including familiarity with MS Office, Excel, Powerpoint, and Access programs.

Instructional experience and comfort briefing in large groups.

Preferred Qualifications Prefer former military, law enforcement, or related fields with experience in contingency, combat, or high risk environments. Organized problem solver capable of independent operation and international travel.
