Job Description
Function Note:
PAE is currently seeking a Military Law Instructor to support A new Administrative function enhancement for the SPLA. The Military Law Instructor will work to build the Military Law understanding and capacity of the SPLA.

Specific duties may include:
•Provide instruction in legal authority and responsibility of the commander; legal clerk, paralegal, legal officer, and court reporter functions and skills; equal opportunities issues, the role of the Judge Advocate; and an overview of legal issues such as military discipline, international law, and civil law.
•Create course curriculum for Military Law courses
•Provide Standup Military Law training
•Provide Military Law mentoring to the Administrative Training Center (ATC) Management staff.
•Other duties as required.
Requirement Note:
• Bachelor’s degree in an associated discipline is required. Additional work experience may be substituted for a degree.
• 5+ years of experience in Military Law instruction is required.

• Experience delivering training on the Legal Authority and Responsibility of The Commander, Legal Clerk Functions and Skills, Paralegal and Legal Officer Functions and Skills, Court Reporter Functions and Skills, Equal Opportunity Issues, The Role of the Judge Advocate, Legal Issues – Overview, Military Discipline (Administrative & Judicial), International Law, Civil Law (Legal Assistance, Claims, Civil Litigation)
• Experience developing Military Law course curriculums is required.
• Experience in post-conflict capacity building is required, Africa experience strongly preferred.
• Experience mentoring/training African forces is preferred.• Willingness and ability to live and work in remote and austere conditions is required.
