Description
Education and Experience – Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university or Graduation from a military command and staff college plus 10 years of task related (training) experience (5 of which earned as O-4 or above) OR a combination of 15 years of military operational experience military operational experience (5 of which earned as O-5 or above). Operational experience includes an understanding of HQ and the component HQs joint requirements, training, and readiness and associated issues required to support joint operations, readiness, training, and exercises and task related experience. Joint Staff planning experience, HQ AFRICOM Service Component experience preferred.

On-site Joint Training System Specialist (JTSS) personnel provide the following:
- Support the development and implementation of a fully integrated joint training, JMET-based training, assessment and readiness reporting in DRRS that accurately reflects the status of command readiness and training to perform assigned missions and their relationships to the SPP-driven resourcing process.
- Identification and articulation of shortfalls in the Doctrine, Organization, Training, Materiel, Leadership, Personnel, and Facilities (DOTMLPF) domains, other than training, by providing the documentation of capability requirements and current assessed ability to meet them.
- Using the above information to assess the overall effectiveness of the command and agency training program and provide a report to the commander identifying issues, recommended corrective action and course of action on an annual basis.
- Developing and refining processes and procedures to support their internal training programs and report appropriate observations, lessons, and recommended solutions.
- Archiving training and operational evaluations and continuously monitoring the status of command implementation of the JTP. This effort provides significant objective data to primarily support development of the commander’s assessment, and, shortfall identification and resolution.
- Implementation, sustainment, and operation of DRRS support system in support of command readiness,
- Providing DRRS reports, responses to queries, information requests as required by government lead,
- Providing overall support to train identified command personnel in DRRS program and operation,
- Developing, presenting, and maintaining training course materials, training manuals, and on-line training and other informational products to support DRRS,
- Providing hands-on, mobile, real-time, on-line, remote, and traditional classroom-type training at sites and for users specified by the government.
- Providing administrative support tasks such as scheduling classes, tracking student loads and instructor assignments, and processing payments, receipts and invoices,
- Developing event and staff assessment plans,
- Conducting event and staff assessments IAW approved assessments. Event assessments shall include designated joint exercises, other joint training events, real world events, ongoing staff actions (as directed), and in support of DRRS and JTS assessment activities.
