Zanmi Lasante, PIH sister organisation, founded by pere Lafontant, a small community clinic that first started treating patients in the village of Cange in 1985, has grown into the Zanmi Lasante (ZL) Sociomedical Complex, featuring a 104-bed, full-service hospital with an infectious disease center (the Thomas J. White Center), a women’s health clinic (Proje Sante Fanm), a laboratory, a pharmaceutical warehouse, a Red Cross blood bank and a dozen schools. ZL has also expanded its operations to a dozen other sites across Haiti’s Central Plateau and beyond. Today, ZL ranks as one of the largest nongovernmental health care providers in Haiti – serving a catchment area of 1.2 million people. ZL employs over 5,400 people, almost all of them Haitians, including doctors, nurses and community health workers.

Overall Responsibilities: Under the general direction of the Director of Facilities, the security manager provides a safe and secure environment for Mirebalais Hospital patients, visitors, and employees, by enforcing Hospital security rules/regulations and by watching for unusual occurrences through patrol of assigned areas. Investigates with complaints or potential criminal conduct; assists in restraining patients as necessary; detain/arrests criminal suspects; provides protective services. Responsible for all the aspects regarding security of the Mirebalais Teaching Hospital (Haiti), staff and assets, the Post Holder will develop and implement training program, to enhance staff awareness on security issues in Haiti.

Specific Responsibilities: 1. Patrol assigned areas, giving particular attention to high security risk areas 2. Identify unsafe conditions and improperly secured areas/property to help prevent theft, injuries or damages to hospital property, patients, visitors and employees. 3. Detain suspicious individuals as appropriate 4. Prepare and submit written reports in a complete and accurate manner; make notations in security log of all incidents; keep supervisor informed at all times 5. Maintain accountability for valuables/property and forms of evidence coming into incumbent’s custody, ensure safe keeping; maintain documentation. 6. Respond to emergency calls 7. Maintain liaison and coordinate with security networks in Haiti and other relevant stakeholders 8. Improve the gathering and sharing of security information 9. Ensure that staff understand and apply communication procedure and protocol and that personnel at risk can be located at all times 10. Oversight of MTH guards 11. Prepare risk assessments and briefing materials 12. Conduct security assessment (locations)

Qualifications: 1. Strong customer service, interpersonal and communications skills. 2. Experience in hospital, security/police, emergency, medical or customer service 3. Must be able to physically life people/equipment, sit, walk, and/or stand for extended periods of time and withstand adverse conditions. 4. Must have valid identification card 5. Strong problem solving skills and good judgment 6. Strong writing skills 7. Comfortable using different forms of technology such as communications and first aid equipment. 8. Creole and French are prefered, English is a plus.
