Security Guard (Female) , kabul - Afghanistan

Organizational Setting and Reporting Relationships:
The Security Guard is responsible to the UNAMA CSA through the Supervisor of
Security Operations and the Security Operations Duty Officer for the physical security,
defense and protection of UNAMA staff, property and installations.  The Security;
Guards remain the eyes and ears for the security section the first line physical defense
of UNAMA Staff, property and installations of the UNAMA Mission against any attack,
destruction or theft.
Accountabilities:
a. Provide physical control of all access to UNAMA premises.
b. Control access and exit of all UNAMA Property and good to and from UNAMA

Offices, warehouses, and installations.
c. Conduct 100% ID card check for personnel and visitors.
d. Physically deny entry to all unauthorized persons to UNAMA compounds and
installations.
e. Prevent unauthorized persons with arms/explosives and lethal weapons form
entering UNAMA Compounds and installations.
f. Ensure that all persons authorized to carry weapons to UNAMA compounds and
installations clear their weapons at the weapons clearing point provided before
entering.
g. Assist newly arrived mission personnel and visitors to locate the right offices and
the Staff Members they are looking for.
h. Conduct physical vehicle and personnel search at all entrances to UNAMA
compounds and facilities before entry is permitted.
i. Conduct routine perimeter and compound foot patrols of all UNAMA buildings.
Pay particular attention to finance offices, fire hazards, and security of office doors.
j. Report all abnormalities observed during his/her tour of duty immediately to the
Security Operations Duty Officer thru the Team Leader.
k. Safeguard all UNAMA vehicles at UNAMA car parks and direct/control traffic
during peak hours as necessary.
l. Provide details of all incidents that take place at his duty post during his tour of
duty to the Investigating Security Officer and assist in the investigation.
m. Ensure cleanliness and serviceability of all post equipment at all times and
report any damage, loss or malfunction to the Team Leader immediately
n. Undertake escort duties and other duties as may be directed by the Supervisor of
Security Operations.
o. Perform driving duties for the Security Section as required/directed QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Education:  High school certificate, any security related experience would be an asset;
Experience:  2 (two) years of relevant experience. Strong inter-personal and
communication skills; (training with police force, or in the military police or other
relevant military experience would be an asset.)
Language:  Fluency in spoken and written Dari and Pashto. Knowledge of English
would be an asset.
Other requirements: Knowledge of HF and VHF radio operations must be mentally
and physically fit. Computer skills (MS Word/ Excel) are required

environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity, including gender balance.
Communication-Effective communication including ability to explain UNAMA security
policies to staff and visitors.
Work implies frequent interaction with the following:  Counterparts, senior officers and
technical staff in relevant mission units and other UNAMA Organizations.
Representatives and officials in national government, international organizations and
consultants.
