Qualifications: The RSR Team leader must be certified as a NFPA
(National Fire Protection Agency) Fire Officer 1 (Equivalent Level 3
IFE Diploma) and advance First Aid or Basic Life Support
Techniques. Have excellent oral and communication skills in
English(French will be an advantage). Good computer skills
(Microsoft Word and Excel). Must be able to work in austere
conditions in Africa.
Mandatory: Certified rescue diver or equivalent. Experience in
general boatmanship and safety aspects of working on and with a
boat and the boat’s equipment. Basic Life Support (BLS), including
CPR.
The candidate should have experience in the recharge of dive
cylinders. Have experience in High angle rescue operations
working with rope rescue equipment and working at high
altitudes and extreme weather conditions. Experience with
Helicopter hoisting procedures. Hazardous Materials-Operations
level. Valid heavy vehicle drivers license with a minimum of 2
years driving experience.
Desirable: Commercial skippers license. Intermediate Life Support
(ILS), including CPR. Dive Master or equivalent. Class IV
Emergency Diver or equivalent with experience in altitude diving
and search patterns in zero visibility. Have experience in swift
water rescue procedures. Search and Rescue Technician. Vehicle
Extrication Techniques. Aviation Firefighter and Rescue experience
will be an advantage.
