This newly created position reports to the Senior Director of Corporate Security, and will be the primary internal consultant to all departments across Europe and Asia (currently 20+ countries) on security issues and act as a back-up to the Senior Director worldwide.
Responsibilities
· Creating and employing security programs to protect against crime and or threats against the company and its employees.
· Assisting the Senior Director or Corporate Security with all investigations relating to crime, loss and threats.
· Assisting in the development, implementation and monitoring of the Corporate Security operating budget, and responsible for defining, justifying and managing the capital budget annually.
· Developing, implementing and updating company security policies and procedures as needed.
· At the direction of the Senior Director of Corporate Security manage special projects (product launches, employee meetings, company management meetings, restructuring activity, etc.).
· Routinely conducting site physical security surveys to evaluate risk and vulnerability at company locations as directed by the Senior Director of Corporate Security.
· Lead all department and/or subsidiary physical security enhancement initiatives.
· Assisting the Associate Director, Real Estate and Facilities Services in assessing, developing and implementing best practices to ensure the appropriate level of physical security and response to any security issues in the region.
· Assisting the Senior Director of Corporate Security in all emergency response, crisis management and business continuity planning activities.
· Managing the Travel Tracker program in collaboration with the Corporate Travel department.
· Managing all technical surveillance countermeasure inspections on a routine and ad hoc basis at the direction of the Senior Director of Corporate Security.
· Managing the contract security guard and equipment & maintenance services of all third party suppliers employed to protect people and property.
Candidate Profile
· 15 years of combined private security, law enforcement or military and business experience. Previous corporate security experience is required
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent is required; Master’s Degree would be an advantage.
· Certified Protection Professional (CPP) preferred.
· Hands-on investigations experience is required.
· Pharmaceutical sector experience is advantageous
· Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external business partners;
· Ability to lead people effectively during normal and crisis situations;
· Ability to effectively manage financial responsibilities effectively, e.g. operating budget, capital budget and annual department budget forecast.
· Must be able to deal effectively with difficult interpersonal situations and build trust with all client groups through the display of respect for company and personally sensitive matters.
· With regards to the routine operations, must be able to effectively manage and provide direction to a host of third party suppliers, their management and operations personnel.
· Domestic and International travel required (45% expected first year, 35% after that)
· Bilingual preferred, English and another European language.
· One must have the ability to stretch beyond current capabilities to improve skill set and knowledge base. One must be able willing to grow through professional experience, formal education and professional education.
