- Manage day to day kennel requirements
- Perform business administration as it relates to the operation of the kennel
- Oversee any full or part-time employees at the kennel
- Maintain K9 health standards for boarded animals and Canine Research working dogs
- Ensure that animal transport are organized, on time, and are performed in accordance with Canine Research’s transport procedures
- Screen potential dogs for suitability as explosives detection dogs (EDD)
- Meet with, and represent Canine Research as a subject matter expert (SME) regarding canine operations and deployments to potential clients
- Demonstrate, when required, EDD capabilities and techniques to outside agencies
- Ensure that Canine Research’s dogs maintain their relevant qualifications through regular training
- Develop and further the aims of Canine Research through a pro-active approach to business development
- Recognized Military Explosive Detection Dog Handler course from a NATO country
- Recognized Law Enforcement Explosive Detection Dog Handler course
- 5 years combined experience as a kennel master with a military unit, a law enforcement agency or a private security company
- 5 years experience with working dogs in Afghanistan and/or Iraq
- 5 years project management experience
- Successful criminal background check from state/provincial or national authority
- Computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Office
- Must be physically fit in order to demonstrate dog handling techniques
- Fluency in English
- Starting at 70k annually, depending on background of applicant
