The Nepal programme seeks to strengthen the provision of security and justice, to support the implementation of the peace process and to enhance the conflict- and gender-sensitivity of peace and development efforts. We work with Nepali partner organisations at the district, regional and national levels. The team based in Kathmandu consists of the Programme Manager, the Project Coordinator, two Project Officers, one Administrator/Finance Officer and one Conflict & Security Adviser.
The Conflict and Security Adviser is an important role within the Nepal team and the wider Asia programme, whose key function is to support the Nepal country programme (at least 80 percent of the time) as well as contributing to some regional work (up to 20 percent of the time). We are looking for someone who can provide in-depth knowledge on Saferworld’s thematic issues, especially on community security; security and justice sector governance; gender, peace and security; aid effectiveness; and DDR.
