PERSON SPECIFICATION
The successful candidate will have strong technical competencies in safety management and experience with the NGO security management framework in relief, rehabilitation and recovery phases. Multidisciplinary safety and security management skills should be relevant to a volatile and dangerous environment and solid experience in participatory training in safety related subjects with a proven track record are key requirements. Familiarity with humanitarian operations, backed up by relevant experience in complex emergencies is essential. The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level, demonstrate cultural awareness, have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, fluent in spoken and written English, willing to learn Arabic and able to travel within Sudan.
TERMS
• Location: Khartoum, Sudan
• Contract: 12 months (subject to funding)
• Accompanied status: unaccompanied
• Salary: £25,000 p/a (plus £2,200 p/a hard to work allowance, accommodation and other benefits)
• Start date: March 2011
