POSITION SUMMARY:
To be responsible for the implementation of security management for World Vision operations Afghanistan in close liaison with the National Director. To mitigate, prepare for and minimize personal and operational risk in WV programs in Afghanistan. To ensure safety, security and protection of staff, appropriately addressed within the national context of World Vision Afghanistan, classified as an insecure complex humanitarian environment. To liaise and coordinate with the Partnership’s security network, represented by the Office of Corporate Security and the Regional Security Advisor on global security issues as they impact the national office strategy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Security Management
* Responsible for initiating and carrying out Risk Assessments of potential and current World Vision operational areas in Afghanistan.
* Responsible for developing, reviewing, distributing, rehearsing and keeping up-to-date appropriate Security Protocols, Evacuation and Contingency Plans for personnel, programs, materials and documents.
* Ensure the implementation of the minimum security management procedures/standards established based on best practice security procedures in coordination with the Regional Security Advisor and the Office of
Corporate Security.
* Organize, implement and follow-up on the promotion of security awareness among national and international staff.
