Chief Security And Safety Services - N.York USA

Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Director, the Chief is responsible for managing all security and safety services required for the protection of delegates, staff, visiting dignitaries and other visitors at the UN Headquarters, including executive protection programs for senior UN officials.
He/she provides strategic and executive direction on managing and optimizing allocated resources, determining priorities; executing and maintaining safety and security systems, emergency preparedness and crisis management, standardized & specialized training of security officers; and improving adequate security measures.
He/she directs/manages approx. 375 security staff who are executing the security and safety operation for the UN HQ district.
He/she participates at national and international conferences/meetings and provides substantive input and expertise in the collective review and discussion on security issues and arrangements.
He/she is responsible for maintaining close liaison with host country law enforcement and emergency agencies to enable well co-ordinated security operations and emergency responses as required.
