Advanced Expeditionary Combat Skills Instructor

Roles and Responsibilities:
Oversee and perform advanced levels of classroom, laboratory, and practical instruction involving live fire combat shooting, including small unit tactics operations and techniques; Oversee and perform the safe operations of 9 mm pistol, M4/M16 rifle, SOF Combat Assault Rifle, Expeditionary Battle Rifle (EBR), Barrett .50 cal rifle, 7.62 mm sniper rifle, and various crew-served weapon systems; Perform classroom, laboratory, and practical instruction on tactical vehicle operation and convoy procedures in all environments; Oversee and perform the safe operation of laser simulation weapon systems (Laser Shot shooting simulations); Supervise and perform nighttime live fire of small arms with night optical devices; Perform course preparations including classroom, weapon loading, weapon mounting, ammo breakout, target placement, computer set up, generator operation, practical area set up, tactical vehicle staging, etc; Perform general berthing facility cleanup to include trash removal, sweeping, swabbing, cleaning kitchen appliances, lounge, bathroom, and TOC areas; Oversee and conduct maintenance of the advanced training range facility; Perform operator level weapons cleaning and maintenance; Limited travel between Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake, CA, and San Diego, CA.

Required Skills and Experience:
Graduate of Instructor Training course; Current (within the past 12-months) certificate of completion for Tactical Casualty Combat Care live tissue medical training; Possess valid CPR certification; Current (within the past 12-months) certificate of completion training in long distance rifle shooting; Current (within the past 12-months) certificate of completion training in crew served weapon systems; Current (within the past 12-months) certificate for completion training on required weapons systems including M9 Pistol, M11 Weapons System, M4/M16, M14, M240/M60, M203 Grenade Launcher, Grenadier, M2 .50 cal, M82.M107, .50 cal, Small Arms Line Coach; Meet Navy High-Risk Training requirements.


Preferred Skills and Experience:
Six years minimum experience in special operations (Army Rangers or Special Forces, Navy SEALs, Air Force Combat Controller, Marine Recon, or UK/Australian SAS) or US Navy EOD with shooting experience; Graduate of small arms weapons training such as Special Forces Advanced Urban Combat or equivalent small arms weapons training; Graduate of tactical/evasive driving training; Graduate of SERE Level C; Master Training Specialist (or equivalent); Minimum two years instructional experience in the areas required by this course may be considered.
