Under overall guidance and supervision of Premises Security Officer (SO), the Security Guard will be responsible for the following duties:
•Provide security coverage of entry points throughout the UNAMI system to prevent entry of unauthorized persons and the unauthorized removal of UN properties;
•Ensure security of UNAMI properties, screen all personnel packages and vehicles entering the premises including clearance through metal detectors;
•Check and evaluate package both visually and by use of X-ray equipment;
•Identify and retain custody of weapons entering the premises with the authority to either confiscate or return said weapons upon owners’ exit from the premises;
•Periodically inspect UNAMI premises and conduct basic fire precautions reporting defective security installations and security equipments;
•Report security violations to his/her direct supervisor;
•Ensure that valid UN Identification Cards are worn by all personnel in UNAMI premises;
•Implement the policy of “In and Out registry” of UN personnel, vehicles and all visitors maintaining alertness for any potential or actual breaches of security and or any disturbance or unusual activity;
•Ensure that all personnel have authorization and proper documentation when removing any UNAMI equipment/supplies out of premises;
•Provide continuous coverage of the cameras, telephone and radio communication systems and associated recording units in the Control Center;
•Respond to emergencies and incidents, alerts relevant emergency units and report to direct supervisor with actions according to SOP;
