CTC is seeking an experienced Personnel Security Specialist to support the Security Branch, Naval Surface Warfare Center-Crane IN. Duties and responsibilities are to provide critical security support to the US Navy by performing the following tasks: determine the initial and continuing suitability and trustworthiness of individuals for access to national security information; determine or recommend level of access to sensitive information, resources, materials or work sites; evaluate sensitivity designations for manpower positions; limit the number of cleared personnel to that needed to accomplish required tasks; develop and implement procedures and criteria for making sensitivity determinations; determine the need for special investigative measures; review requests for security clearances and special access; interview candidates or employees as needed; review facts and circumstances concerning adverse information and make recommendations or decisions on appropriate reporting and/or security clearance suspension, revocation, or denial; prepare support documentation such as Special Security Files; provide advice on personnel security policies/matters and the impact of such requirements on the organization; represent the organization in personnel security matters; monitor maintenance of personnel security clearances; and administer security awareness programs/training.
Must be familiar with a wide range of Executive Orders and departmental regulations governing personnel clearances and access to national security information, including EO 13526, DoD 5200-series, and relevant Intelligence Community directives.
Academic degree in Business Management or a related area plus 2-4 years of experience in a responsible industrial security position. For Associate’s Degree, 4-6 years of experience in an industrial security position.
