Lead Ship Security Advisor

Position Summary

The Lead Ship Security Advisor is responsible for all functions associated with the role of ship site security, including but not limited to personnel, physical, operations, and communications security disciplines.

Duties & Responsibilities
Serve as the Alternate Contractor Program Security Officer (ACPSO) for day-to-day ship security guidance for the company's various Special Programs and DoD Contracts.
Responsible for preparations of shipboard modifications to include construction contractor interface and implementation of Construction Security Plan (CSP)
Responsible for developing, reviewing and maintaining ship project protection plans, OPSEC plans, Ship's Standard Operating Procedures, Emergency Action Plans, Fixed Facility Checklists (FFCs), Construction Security Plans, Security Guidelines, etc.
Responsible for the positive control of all accountable items. Provide secure movement of all accountable items. Track and maintain the chain of custody on all accountable packages, parcels, and equipment being transported in support of contract requirements.
Prepare and develop materials to support ship security audits as required.
Maintain general security education program and ensure all ship personnel comply with regulatory training requirements.
Provide security guidance to the assigned workforce. Conduct security briefings for embarking / disembarking crew members.
Work with Program Managers to facilitate personnel requests for security clearance and support the acquisition process as needed.
Execute crew and visitor control while underway and during port operations. Ensure that only authorized personnel are granted access to the site.
Take the lead role in ensuring compliance with information systems security requirements and authorizations. May interface with customer IT counterparts to facilitate system approvals.
Escorting responsibilities. Ensure uncleared personnel / technicians are always monitored and sign appropriate visitor logs.
Perform security patrols / end-of-day checks in accordance with the ships standard operating procedures. Be familiar with administrative forms utilized for physical security to include use of SF701, SF702 and Fixed Facility Checklists (FFCs).
Investigate security incidents. Prepare reports documenting investigation activities and results. Ensure all appropriate personnel are notified.
Serve as a designated courier for the company's various Special Programs and DoD Contract, both CONUS and OCONUS.
This position will require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS (up to 75%).
Coordinate with contract field locations as applicable.
Must possess a valid U.S. Passport
Other duties as assigned by the Program Security Manager.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to Program Security Manager.

Qualifications

REQUIRED
BS or BA degree in a related field (e.g. Criminal Justice / Criminal Law, Homeland Security, Business Administration) preferred. Equivalent work experience in a related career or Military Occupational Specialty may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Minimum five years of security officer experience required.
Working knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements. RMF Training beneficial.
Working knowledge and experience implementing:Department of Defense (DoD) National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM)
Relevant Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs) to include ICD Tech Spec / ICD 705
DoD 5105.21-M-1
Communications Security (COMSEC) policy guidance
DoD 5205.07
Technical writing skills.
Top Secret security clearance with investigation conducted within the past five years.
Current U.S. passport.
Must be a US Citizen.
