Security Operations Support Specialist , Kabul Afghanistan

Job Summary

The Security Operations Support Specialist supports administrative and operational aspects of movement and static security operations, predominantly the integration of motor pool activities into existing movement security policies and procedures, to include personnel recovery and accountability of local national (LN) operations.
 
Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract)
Responsible for developing, administering, and coordinating operations between the security operations center and other post entities to provide security oversight and support.
Work with a variety of voice- and text-based communications technology including local cell phone, regional and global satellite phone, tactical military radio, and UHF/VHF radio.
Prepare weekly and/or daily reports required by senior management.
Maintain a watch record of activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.


Knowledge & Skills
Possess or have the aptitude to learn and develop proficiency in security operations and corresponding processes and procedures, and how IT/software could be employed to streamline, track and produce metrics.
Proficiency in administrative processes and information technology (IT) systems including: Microsoft Office (MS) Suite (Outlook, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, InfoPath), Adobe Suite (including Adobe Connect), and Google Earth.
Desired, but not required software experience includes: Falcon View, CM3, Multi-analytic Geospatial Environment (MAGE), MS Vizio, MS Project and other data management and geospatial software applications to include military systems for common operating picture (COP) and C4I systems.


Experience & Education
A minimum of two (2) of the last seven (7) years in one of the following fields or combination:
Tactical Operations Center
Intelligence Analysis
Watch Center
Command Post Shift Work
Or must have (1) served as a WPPS or WPPS II PSS under CLIN OSS for 1 year or (2) have documented knowledge, skills and abilities.
Previous experience serving in high threat environments (e.g. Iraq and Afghanistan).
Two years of college desired and/or equivalent technical training.
High school diploma or equivalent.
4/4 English language required.


Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Generally works in normal office environment, but may be required to travel domestically and internationally on short notice to austere environments under harsh living conditions.
Works in austere environment.
