Job Summary
The Security Barrier Technician will order parts, install, program, calibrate, troubleshoot, test and repair barriers and barrier operational systems, as well as sky watch towers.
Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)
Inspect all moving parts for wear/apparent excessive wear. Repair or replace as necessary.
Inspect all electrical wiring for wear. Repair or replace as necessary.
Inspect battery for proper voltage, IAW manufacturer’s specifications. Repair or replace as necessary.
If applicable, inspect the hydraulic system for wear, leaks and proper fluid level, IAW manufacturer’s specifications. Repair or replace as necessary.
If applicable, inspect lights for proper operation, IAW manufacturer’s specifications. Repair or replace as necessary.
Inspect barrier trailer or transport system for wear and proper tire inflation, IAW manufacturer’s specification. Repair or replace as necessary.
Inspect operation of barrier. Repair as necessary.
If applicable, emergency operation (immediate up) with coordination with COR.
Inspect all electrical for proper function, batteries for proper voltage, and lights for proper operation IAW manufacturer’s specification. Repair or replace as necessary.
Inspect trailer, outriggers and support system for wear and proper tire inflation, IAW manufacturer’s specification. Repair or replace as necessary.
Inspect all generator fluids, IAW manufacturer’s specifications. Replace as necessary.
Inspect all safety items including wind speed meter. Repair or replace as necessary.
Inspect operation of tower. Repair as necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
Ability to perform general maintenance on aircraft arresting systems, security barriers and sky watch towers.
Must have attained level 3 proficiency in reading, writing and speaking English.
Ability to interpret D/C circuit, schematic diagrams and mechanical drawings.
Ability to use test and diagnostic equipment such as torque wrenches, dial indicators, calipers, millimeters, etc.
Must have a valid passport.
Experience & Education
High School degree or equivalent.
Three (3) years experience working on security barriers or related experience.
Experience working on the Delta Scientific MP5000 Portable Crash Rated Barrier heavily preferred.
Travel
Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.
