We are looking for a new Global Health, Safety and Security trainer to capacity build NRC staff and support the implementation of the new Global Health Safety and Security Training strategy. You are a creative and enthusiastic instructor with a high work rate, and with proven experience in delivering trainings from idea to practice. You enjoy working with people, and thrives from the challenge to build capacity of staff in the field. The NRC Health, Safety & Security (HSS) Section is responsible for developing, evaluating and monitoring NRC’s global approach to health, safety, security and crisis management. With a central team located at Head Office, the Section provides the policies, systems, frameworks and standards for use globally, and works through and with senior managers and security staff in the regions and country operations.

Duties and responsibilities
Implement the new Global Health, Safety & Security Training strategy.
Be a mentor for other trainers, primarily Security Managers in NRC Countries
Create, develop, lead and deliver new and existing HSS capacity building initiatives
Provide technical direction and guidance on HSS training, competency and behaviour to staff at all levels across the organisation.
Operationally manage the NRC HEAT and its consultants on delivery, maintain and develop the high quality of this training
Support the development and implementation of the NRC crisis management training program.
Maintain an overview of industry best training practices, developments and tools
Deploy to support regional and country teams if directed

Qualifications
Exemplary command of the English language (written and spoken)
Strong report writing and good communication and presentation skills.
Master’s Degree-level of education or 7 years relevant work experience.
Minimum 5 years of experience working in the field of Health, Safety & Security, 3 of which preferably should be within the NGO, UN or private sector (not including military, law enforcement or private security). Other relevant experience might compensate for lack of such.
Solid understanding of principles and practices in broad humanitarian action, NGO safety and risk management, humanitarian access, and civil-military coordination.
Substantial and demonstrated prior experience as a trainer, with an effective and professional training style, and the ability to develop, implement, facilitate and impart learning to senior management and to a wide range of audiences.
Demonstrated experience in incident and crisis management.
