ABOUT THE JOB...

The Security Advisor will be responsible for accompanying the team in updating "SI Mission Security Pack" and to train the identified staff in charge of security.

Today, the Bangladesh mission faces huge challenges, particularly as it has experienced a massive increase in size and operational volume in the space of a few months.


SI is currently implementing projects in for different areas of intervention:
Cox’s Bazar District (Offices in Cox city and Teknaf),
Bandarban District (operated from Ukhia),
Sathkira District (hosted by a local partner)
Dhaka slums.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Update of the Security Pack

To review and accompany in the completion of the different forms filled in by the Field Coordinators / Head of Base and Country Directors

To review security monitoring and reporting mechanisms accordingly with the SI’s security pack,
Check and improve the capitalization of security incidents

Team training on security management
Support the staff in effectively enforcing agreed new security rules and procedures:
Check and improve or adapt the existing HQ and mission security training modules for the whole staff.
Priorities :
The Security Advisor will visit the Dhaka, Cox, Ukhia (Bandarban) and Teknaf and he/she collects all relevant information to update or create the different forms.
He/She will provide the necessary trainings to the staff
He/she will update the Mission Security Pack
YOUR PROFILE

The education is not decisive, but experience in the mission or HQ with NGO is imperative: Logistic Coordinator, Emergency Coordinator, Field Coordination, Country Director, Security Advisor at HQ or mission level.

A previous experience in the same position would be a major asset.

Technical skill and competence:
Excellent representational skills, to represent SI to a broad range of people and organizations and government officials.
Knowledge of International Humanitarian Law ;
Knowledge of the geopolitical context;
A good understanding of humanitarian issues including refugees, protection, advocacy, DRR and climate change issues

Personal quality:
An ability to analyze information quickly and accurately;
Communication, redaction, training skills;
Ability to work in autonomy;
Understanding of and commitment to SI’s mission and values

Language : Strong communication skills, with excellent written and spoken English
SI WILL OFFER YOU ...

The starting minimum wage - without prior experience calculation - is 2860 euros (2600 base salary + 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly) and a monthly Per Diem of 350 USD

Social and medical cover: Expatriates benefit from an insurance package which reimburses all healthcare expenses (including medical and surgical expenses, dental care and ophthalmological expenses, repatriation) and a welfare system including war risks. Essential vaccination and antimalarial treatment costs are refunded.

Vacation: During the assignment, a system of alternation between work and time off is implemented at the rate of one break every three months. For a one-year assignment, the expatriate will have a 7-day break during the 3rd and the 9th month (with 500 euros allocated by Solidarités). He or she will also be entitled to go back to his or her home country for a 14-day period after six months spent on the mission (Solidarités will cover travel costs)
