ARMED: Female Tactical Platoon Manager (KKA)

Job Description: The US has a requirement to organize, man, equip, and train Special Infantry units for the Afghan National Defense Security Forces (ANDSF). This Special Infantry organization is an elite, highly mobile, light Infantry unit that specializes in assaults on conventional targets throughout Afghanistan. The Tactical Trainer will ensure the all duties and responsibilities are executed in a timely manner as per the assigned Statement of Work.

The Female Tactical Platoon Manager interfaces on a daily basis with the on-site Program Management.

The Female Tactical Platoon Manager participates in meetings and conferences as directed by the appointed the SITP Program Manager, Deputy Program Manager and/or Technical Oversight Representative (TOR)/ Quality Assurance Representative (QAR).

The Female Tactical Platoon Manager works independently and reports to the SITP Program Manager located on Camp Scorpion, Afghanistan.


Required Hours:Work may include nights, holidays, and weekends on short notice. Standard will be to conduct training six (6) days per week for up to ten (10) hours per day while at OCONUS work site(s) and a standard 40 hour work week while at CONUS work sites. Occasional surges in effort may be required to meet training requirements.

Responsibilities:


Coordinate all resourcing prior to training conducted, to include: supply, land, transportation, security, instructor, interpreters and ammo requests
Coordinate in the development and continual refinement of a comprehensive Program of Instruction and schedule with CSTC-A Special Infantry Training Director for the specified POI.
Provide knowledge and feedback on Female Tactical Platoon training schedule
Provide weekly updates to the Program Management team, at the Program Manager’s discretion, this will include, but is not limited to: situational reports, training reports, training support documents and photographs as needed.
Provide deliverables in an accurate and timely manner.
Provide continuity and historical data tracking of all current and previous basic courses
Function as an instructor to facilitate surges in effort.
Provide weekly updates to the Commanding Officer and staff. At the commander’s discretion, this will include, but is not limited to: situational reports, training reports, training support documents, and photographs.

Assist in the development and continual refinement of a comprehensive Program of Instruction and schedule in coordination with the CSTC-A Special Infantry Training Director for the specified POI.
Assist in the development and continual refinement of other training documents such as Lesson Plans, AAR and Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTP), as required.
Required Qualifications:

Must have an appropriate level of experience within the US Army or Marine Corps.
Must have basic knowledge of small unit tactics IAW U.S. Army SH 21-76, and U.S. Army FM 3-21.8.
Must have a basic knowledge of Infantry platoon weapon systems: M9, M4, M249 and M240 and the applicable marksmanship manuals: FM 3-23.25, FM 3-21.68 and FM 3-22.
US SOF Experience (Minimum of 4 years preferred) Served as an E5-E6 or higher,
Deployed operational experience in support of the GWOT, preferably within Iraq and Afghanistan is highly desired, between 2001 and 2015.
Meet all POI requirements for a Tactical Trainer
Able to clearly communicate in a timely manner both verbally and written.
Able to resolve workplace conflict management.
Team player -- must be able to professionally interact and work with team members and senior US military/coalition military advisors and Afghan ANDSF leaders and students.
Detail-oriented with the ability to work under challenging deadlines.
Competent with operating PC skills and MS Office
Excellent leadership, organizational & project management skills
Must possess current DoD Secret Security Clearance
Must possess a US Passport with at least 6 months remaining eligibility
Must be able to obtain an Afghanistan Visa
Physical & Mental Requirements:

This is an ARMED position. Must obtain and maintain eligibility to possess & operate a firearm in Afghanistan (AFG). As a business necessity, must successfully complete/maintain arming requirements including but not limited to: Psychological evaluation (initial evaluation & annual reevaluations); Completion of Civilian Arming Authorization Mgmt System (CAAMS) requirements/documentation & Arming Authorization Letter from US Forces AFG; Afghan weapons permit from the Afghan Ministry of the Interior
Wear required personal protective gear: body armor, helmet, etc. Independently lift/carry duffle bags with a max weight of 70 lbs/piece & move across uneven terrain
Work & live in AFG with potential assignment to any location in AFG based upon needs of the U.S. Gov’t
Meet medical requirements for position as determined by a pre-employment medical screening & published CRC and USCENTCOM medical deployment standards
Walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces up to 8 hours/day & sit for up to 3 hours/day; climb/descend stairs; grasp or handle objects; use finger dexterity; bend elbows/knees; reach above/below shoulders; read/interpret typewritten print; communicate by voice & detect sound by ear
Work, live & respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances in a potentially hostile environment - at remote locations, under austere conditions - with extreme aircraft noise, hostile fire, other acts of aggression and/or extreme weather conditions

Desired Qualifications:


Prior deployed military experience as a member of a Female Engagement Team (FET) or Cultural Support Team (CST) is strongly preferred.
Previous experience training and advising foreign military soldiers is preferred
Previous experience training and advising ANDSF
Required Education (including Major):

Bachelor's degree from accredited school & four (4) years of related experience, OR two (2) years related experience with Master's degree. Eight (8) years of additional equivalent work experience (12 total years) may be accepted in lieu of BA/BS education requirement.
