A world-leading high-profile sports organisation with headquarters in the North-West are looking for a Head of Security & Risk to be responsible for the overall strategy and delivery of policies, procedures and practices that will ensure the safety and security of all sites, visitors, employees, infrastructure and information against any risk that may be posed.

As a strong influencer, the ideal candidate will have experience of promoting positive security and risk cultures and driving change and transformation with key stakeholders at levels of an organisation.

As the go-to person for all matters relating to risk and security, you will be an expert in this field who is continually keeping abreast of the latest legislation and ensuring that it is adopted and adhered to wherever necessary.

This is a unique role that will require a candidate with a breadth of experience that includes areas such as physical security, cyber security and data governance. Working for an organisation in the public eye, where any pause in operation could have a significant negative impact, it is essential that you have experience of crisis management, contingency planning and business continuity.

As a company with multiple diverse operational sites, including many that are open to the public, the ideal candidate will have had exposure to a variety of different businesses and sites that include venues, office space, retail and distribution.

Particular areas of focus in this role will include:
Managing and mitigating any potential terrorism threat
Ensuring the safety of all employees and visitors (many of who could be high-profile) to the sites
Crisis management and incident planning
Liaising with key stakeholders, the police and outsourced security providers and consultants
Travel security
Cyber Security
Data Governance

Other responsibilities will include chairing the Risk Management Group, carrying out site inspections and audits, leading on training, managing budgets, advising on and sourcing security equipment and technology

In order to be considered for this position, it is essential that you have:
Significant experience working in a security and risk role within a large high-profile and complex organisation with multiple sites
An excellent knowledge of risk and security management / governance frameworks along with current legislation and policies.
An understanding of the potential security and risk issues in public high-footfall tourist and / or visitor attractions.
An in-depth knowledge of the current significant security threats facing organisations along with the latest developments in risk mitigation i.e. counter-terrorism and cyber security.
