Job Introduction:

The role is to deliver aviation security mentoring in line with international aviation security (AVSEC) standards to all nominated Ministry of Interior and G4S staff providing aviation security and / or services within Kuwait International Airport. The mentoring platform shall consist of the full range of AVSEC activities to include screening technologies associated with airport and airline security processes (x-ray screening, CT and ETD).

This is a contract role until end of March 2017.

Role Responsibility:
Responsible for the front line delivery of all AVSEC mentoring and associated activities in line with International Standards required to reach the delivery of the key objective
Continuously review and assess the competency and performance of all AVSEC staff and systems across Kuwait International Airport and report to the Compliance Lead and Principal Consultant as required
Prepare all necessary reports and advise on systems and processes designed to support the airport security operations
Deliver AVSEC mentoring to all staff in accordance with national legislation and recognised International standards.
Collaborate with and support the Principal Consultant and Project Management team in the design of suitable mentoring frameworks and plans
Collaborate and co-ordinate with all G4S training stakeholders, as required.
Ensure that all AVSEC mentoring activity is carried out in a safe environment and in line with company guidance in respect of Health, Safety and Environment and Quality Assurance policies, as directed by the company in coordination with the Kuwait Ministry of Interior.
Maintain up-to- date knowledge of legislation governing the international AVSEC industry.
Continuously assess, evaluate and report on staff performance on task and identify training needs through continuous mentoring, monitoring and objective analysis.
Continuously monitor and mentor the aviation security staff to ensure a high level of professionalism and compliance with the work standards and methods is achieved. Take necessary measures to correct any deficiency in real time if required to ensure the safety of passengers, staff and goods, in compliance with guidance from the Compliance Lead and Principal Consultant.
Work with the PMT in the design and delivery of individual project programmes, in order to meet training needs identified as a result of the relevant Training Needs Analysis and subsequent reports / audits.
Ensure all necessary documentation relating to the mentoring of staff is prepared and maintained to a high standard in line with requirements and submitted for review as requested
Report all incidents immediately, provide the necessary investigation, incident and recommended support in full as required.


The Ideal Candidate:

Qualifications
Degree level education or equivalent work or military experience.
Recognised AVSEC training qualification - IATA, ICAO or equivalent.


Essential:
Minimum of 3 years’ AVSEC experience
Fully conversant with and proven delivery of the full range of international AVSEC related training requirements.
Delivery of all recognised training subjects from basic to advanced management level
UK Department for Transport Aviation Security Managers Initial Training Course (formerly known as Level 3) or equivalent


Desirable:
ICAO Qualified training instructor
ICAO International Inspector qualification
Training qualification e.g. Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS) Level 3 minimum
Commercial field experience in AVSEC
Health and Safety qualification
Recognised quality assurance qualification
Experience working internationally
Arabic Speaker


Knowledge and Skills
Specialised knowledge of international Aviation Security standards, including ICAO and EU300 SEC programmes
Working proficiency of the English Language (Written and Oral).
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
The ability to work unsupervised, in a fast paced team environment
Proven IT skills in all Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Access, Word & Power Point)
