Role Specific/Purpose**:

The Technical Security and Safety Officer will act as the security and safety focal point for the Middle East Regional Office (MERO) and Syria Response Office (SRO) in ensuring the safety and security of staff and assets in Jordan, through the implementation of relevant policies and procedures and risk mitigation. The Security and Safety Officer will support the Regional Security Advisor in risk management measures and putting measures in place to mitigate risks to NRC staff and assets.

Overview:

This position will be responsible for looking after the building safety and the security guards, in addition he/she will be responsible for conducting on time security briefs to NRC visitors and new staff.

The Security and Safety Officer will be responsible for developing tools and procedures for tracking travel movements of NRC staff and for better general safety support.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

2-3 years of relevant professional experience in lieu of formal education.

A confident, assertive, and energetic person who owns tactfulness skills and the ability to deal with different external actors in a professional manner.

A team player who can work with minimum supervision. Enthusiasm to learn new things and growth, and willingness to take new tasks.

Good organization and presentation skills and attention to details.

Good command in spoken and written English is a must.

Key Job Tasks and Responsibilities:**


Ensure that basic routines related to security and safety management in MERO/SRO are followed, relevant safety equipment is installed and maintained effectively


Conduct security and safety briefings to new staff and visitors, assist with training and event management.


Support the Regional Security Advisor/ Head of Security in drafting of specific guidelines related to MERO/SRO including, office security and evacuation plans and conduct security and safety assessment on all MERO/SRO contracted premises


Support the Regional Security Advisor/ Head of Security in the development of regional security and safety frameworks incl. security protocols/operating procedures, recording and tracking of incidents, trends analysis and similar;


Manage, record and track MERO/SRO staff movements as per current security levels and advisories;


Assist in the preparation of security reports.

[12 months contract]
