Managing Director of Security

Job description: 
Based in Miami must have the right to work in the USA. Fluent in English and Spanish with a work history in the region.

The Managing Director (M.D.) of Security-Latin America (LATAM) will plan, implement and direct the Regional Security program which encompasses operations in Central and South America, as well as the Caribbean. The M.D. will be the senior most corporate security professional focused on LATAM so a highly developed understanding and knowledge of the region is vital.

The M.D. will oversee procedures and practices that safeguard company employees, assets, operations and the corporate brand and reputation. The M.D. will set the strategy for regional security planning, manage security personnel and budgets for the region, and ensure that the security program is using industry best practices in LATAM.

Key Responsibilities:
Code of conduct investigations, initiatives, and programs with a particular focus on FCPA issues.
Safeguards physical assets to reduce diversion, theft, and misconduct related to assets.
Crisis management, including planning, training and response.
Serves as a liaison to all relevant local, state and federal law enforcement agencies and regulatory authorities to foster productive relationships, improve operational performance and glean useful intelligence and cooperation.
Communicates perceived risks, threats, and security issues to senior management with an emphasis on highlighting emerging trends and concerns. Prepares and delivers regular security briefings and reports.
Communicates, refines and oversees compliance with the corporate workplace violence prevention program and all active threat initiatives.
Manages and oversees the physical security program that includes security technology such as CCTV, access control systems, intrusion detection systems and all other physical security tools.
Hires, trains, mentors and supervises regional security personnel to stress continuous learning and skills development and professional advancement. Also, provides remedial attention for any employees not meeting performance expectations.
Continuously reviews and refines security policies and procedures in order to optimize operations in the region.

Candidate profile: Requirements:
Bachelors degree with an advanced degree (Law, Security Management, etc.) very helpful.
Significant experience in law enforcement, government, the military or the intelligence community in LATAM.
Full English/Spanish fluency is required as well as in region work history.
Must have a US security clearance or be able to obtain a clearance.
Must be able to travel in the region up to 50% of the time.
Must have the highest ethics, in tandem with strong cultural exposures and a sophisticated understanding of the various countries and peoples in the region.
