SOC is recruiting for a Canine Trainer (CT) for OCONUS positions.
Conducts initial training testing/validation of canines in order to validate proper olfactory capabilities, behavioral suitability, and physical traits for entrance into the program.
Perform daily maintenance training (i.e., performance and explosives detection) and maintain training records for assigned detection dogs.
Collects and maintains accurate records relating to the imprinting and training of contract canines.
Maintain the day-to-day health and welfare of assigned detection dogs.
Maintain all assigned canine-related equipment.
Perform basic canine emergency first-aid as needed.
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must possess a national/state/provincial military or law enforcement certification as an explosives detection working dog trainer.
Must possess a minimum of four (4) years’ experience as a military or law enforcement canine handler, or a minimum of three (3) years performing as a military or law enforcement canine trainer. This experience must have been earned within the last five (5) years. Experience may be gained in the employ of any national, state, provincial, local, or commercial entities providing armed high threat protective services.
Must be able to get and maintain a Secret Clearance.
