The total salary package for this position is £63,376 - £70,396 GBP per annum* including basic salary, cost of living allowance and hardship allowance.**

About the Iraq programme:

MAG has been present in Northern Iraq since 1992. Iraq has a range of projects, including Landmine Clearance, UXO removal, Risk Education, Cluster-munitions Clearance, Explosive Ordnance Disposal. Improvised Explosive Device Disposal and Battle Area Clearance. Iraq’s headquarters is based in Erbil, with four operational bases, in Dohuk, Chamchamal, Bardiya and Sinuni. Between 1992 and 2013, the Iraq programme cleared 70,730,647 m2 of land, removed and destroyed 2,095,490 items, and has given over 15,240 risk education sessions.

About the role:

As a senior technical manager, you will be responsible for ensuring quality, safety and efficiency in our humanitarian mine clearance and EOD/High Risk Search operations. You will hold a recognisable EOD
qualification and have extensive experience of implementing efficient clearance operations in challenging environments. Working closely with and reporting to the Technical Operations Manager, you will be accountable for ensuring the highest quality of programming. You will also support the Technical operations manager in developing the programmes technical strategy, plans, proposals, budgets and technical training and manage and oversee the performance and development of TFMs and National TFMs.

About you:

You will have excellent people and project management skills with the ability to coordinate, design, manage, improve and report on technical operations. Technical knowledge of either mines/unexploded ordnance/IEDs and mine clearance techniques, or IEDD including new developments is essential. This is a demanding yet highly rewarding position that will be suited to a highly motivated, solution-focused and flexible manager. You will need previous experience of managing all phases of large scale technical operations.
