Job Purpose
A client facing and fee earning role to provide direct support to Control Risks’ clients from within our crisis and security consulting practice. The consultant will be required to deliver security risk consulting and crisis management services principally across Southern Africa. The consultant may also be required to deliver or support projects across the wider Europe/Africa region.

Tasks and Responsibilities
Consulting
The consultant will be expected to:
Undertake consulting tasks such as operational security reviews and security audits.
Deliver security awareness training and conduct security planning tasks.
Support senior team members in undertaking broader crisis and security consulting tasks as directed.
Support the maintenance of a network of appropriately skilled subcontractors who may be used to deliver CSC work if required
Contribute to the development of the service by identifying opportunities for improving the value our services provide to clients.
Liaise closely with relevant country experts, colleagues from other departments, and the client directly to ensure the services we provide are high-quality and answer client needs.
Task Management
Service consultancy assignments
Lead and participate in client engagement
Ensure that practices, policies, strategy and services are fully aligned with client need
Maintain and develop long-term client relationships; acting in conjunction with key account managers
Maintain time and expense records to ensure accurate invoicing in accordance with company procedure
Task Delivery
Delivery of tasks for clients on time, on budget, to the highest standards
The role will involve significant travel to client sites in Southern Africa and additionally to other Control Risks offices
From time-to-time the role may require consultants to support in crisis or emergency evacuation situations, sometimes requiring short-notice and/or extended deployment to the field.
Business development
Work with the Director and relevant account/relationship managers and partners to identify and qualify new business opportunities for clients in the region.
Deliver or oversee consultancy proposals and responses to client requests in a timely manner and to a high standard to maximise chances of success both through direct proposal-writing and submissions to clients or assistance to proposal-writers in other departments.
Contribute to marketing activities
Participate in client meetings and develop long-term client relationships
Team/Practice Development
Work effectively with Control Risks’ diverse departments and offices in Africa and beyond to develop business
Actively contribute and support activity within CSC Europe and Africa team
Be the regional SME for CSC
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
Strong management consulting and communication skills (including concise and accurate written skills).
