Physical Security Supervisor

The Physical Security Supervisor will be based at one of four PAE sites in Iraq and serve the Operations and Maintenance Support Services (OMSS) contract in support of the U.S. Department of State. This position will be responsible for all Delta Scientific pedestrian and vehicular gates and barrier control systems, including the maintenance of structural systems and maintenance repair or replacement, as necessary, of forced entry ballistic resistant (FEBR) windows, doors, and louvers. This position will report to the O&M Manager. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.

Duties: 
Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
Comply with all Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance requirements and goals.  Provide information and materials to these divisions as necessary to ensure adequate and legal documentation.
Provide daily work assignments and supervise a mixed team of Foreign Nationals (FN) and Local Nationals (LN).
Perform gates and barriers services as required for:
Inspecting, cleaning, lubricating and performing preventive maintenance (PM) on the physical security electric and hydraulic pedestrian and vehicular control systems, manufactured by the Delta Scientific corporation, located at the compound access control (CAC) points.

Verification that all gates and barriers are operational and performing maintenance and repairs based on Delta Scientific requirements and in accordance with the PAE O&M plan.
Trouble-shooting problems, utilizing test equipment and meters, assisting with installation of new electrical and electro-mechanical devices
Submitting reports to the O&M Manager on a scheduled basis
Assisting Department of State (DoS) Engineering Security Office (ESO) staff with integrity testing.
Assist in developing the Statement of Work (SOW) when requested.
Report any problems or lack of compliance with the SOW or O&M plan to the O&M Manager.
Perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections.
Maintain the appropriate technical library and record-keeping which documents all procedures necessary to accomplish assigned responsibilities
Maintain effective, timely and respectful communication and interaction with other employees, managers, and support other organizations.
Perform other administrative tasks including ordering material, inventorying, and scheduling work.
Collect, analyze, and summarize data for report preparation and submits written reports.
Responsible for facility custodianship of work area and management of tools, equipment and spare parts.
Take initiative to analyze a situation and to make frequent technical decisions based on specifications, safety and electrical codes.
Evaluate operational effectiveness and develop/maintain effective operational control mechanisms.
Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

REQUIRED:
Minimum Acceptable Experience Level: Five (5) years’ general security system maintenance experience with Delta Scientific Corporation security controls equipment or compatible experience and ability to maintain gates and barriers specifically installed at the assigned site.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of applicable U.S. Codes and accepted trade practices.
Knowledge and experience regarding occupational hazards and related safety precautions associated with security gates and barriers systems and equipment.
Good organizational, time management, and communication skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
Cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective.
Computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to become an active and functioning member of a team.
Ability to be innovative and be an agent for change.
Expert communication skills to facilitate and disseminate information.
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent education required. Completion of an Apprentice program with a Journeyman Electrician Certificate or an AA/AS trade’s degree from a two-year college and/or equivalent field experience is strongly preferred.
Licenses and Certifications: Valid drivers’ license from Home of Record.
Security Vetting: Already possess a US Government issued security clearance or Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) or be able to obtain a favorable MRPT certification or US Government clearance prior to being hired is required for the position. Must maintain eligibility at the required certification or clearance level for the duration of the contract.
Language Skills: Satisfactory English proficiency to meet job requirements and to adhere and comply with safety, health, and security measures.
Citizenship: US Citizenship is required.
Medical: Successfully complete and pass the medical and dental examinations as required by PAE and our customer for deployment to Iraq. Must maintain physical and dental requirements for duration of deployment.
DESIRED:
Training and experience with other manufacturer’s security controls systems and equipment is highly desired.
Previous out of home country experience and previous work experience in harsh environmental conditions are a plus.
Relevant overseas security controls and systems repair experience.
Experience working with PAE.
Experience working with SOW, sub-contractors, budgets, estimating, working drawings and as-builts.


WORKING AND LIVING CONDITIONS:
This position may be located in a war zone, in an environment with harsh and dangerous working and living conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly be exposed to extreme and austere desert-like environment. Temperatures can reach 120- 130 degrees Fahrenheit/50-55 degrees Celsius during the summer months. Employees must be willing and able to perform regular job requirements in this austere, extreme environment, as well as willing and able to deploy to Iraq for extended periods. Work schedules are a minimum of 6 days per week and 10 hours per day, while some jobs have higher daily and weekly minimums. Employees must be willing and able to perform physical activities including, but not limited to, heavy lifting and moving of items, parts, assemblies, and equipment up to the safety regulation maximum; climbing in and out of equipment; crawling; and working outdoors. This includes being able to lift and carry 40 pounds of personal protective equipment for extended periods of time and being capable of running and ‘duck & cover’ during emergencies without putting oneself or others at risk.
