MWR Technician Recreation:

Coordinates and Implements the MWR Mission program at a specific facility. Provides exercise guidance, testing, prescription, and supervision to MWR users and teaches group exercise classes. Assists with health program delivery. Maintains monthly health bulletin boards and educational conducts activities required to operate Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) facilities. Responsible for the issuance and monitors security of MWR assets: computers, phones, gaming equipment, recreation and entertainment equipment and supplies, movies, and library materials. Skills are typically acquired through completion of high school and 2


years of experience involving the coordination of organized team sports, recreational dub activities, and social event planning.

Additional Duties:

Assists in the set-up/tear-down, clean up and conducting events for facility reservations, special events, Entertainment shows, and recreation activities. Performs routine facility inspections, monitors safety, damage to facility or MWR equipment. Manage and conducts MWR facility property inventory monthly, conducts patronage count and submits daily Sitreps status reports. Attends meetings and on the job trainings when required. Ensure accountability of all staff during work shift and shares facility upkeep and assigned duties with the HCN workforce. Submits requests for work orders, basic maintenance or IT technical support as needed.

Assists the Recreation Director to conduct and program events and coordinate all logistics involved with set-up of directed activities/gaming tournaments, Captain’s Cup activities, special events programming, Bingos and seasonal Holiday activities assigned.

Provides patrons instruction/orientation in the use of gaming /inflatables/ equipment, and assists in the hands-on instruction of board game tournaments, and table gaming competitions

Working with the annual and monthly schedule of events providing planned activities, ping pong, pool and shuffleboard tournaments, Texas hold em, corn hole, board games and cards tournaments, and helps to make the MWR Theater Monthly Movie Schedule.

Interface Daily with Military POC’s to coordinate and accommodate the facility/picnic area reservations, ensuring logistical set-up and decorations/ rehearsals for all Command Events, INDOCS, Community BBQ’s, Hail and Farewells, Military Balls, Change of Command, Training Classes, DV receptions, Ethnic Celebrations, Dining and Fun Run support events.

Minimum Skills:

Previous Customer Service Training

Must have previous Recreation programming experience.

Previous work with MWR preferred.

Current CPR/First Aid. AED.

Must have minimum 2 years MWR Technician Experience.

Must be able to have the ability to create, and implement recreational and entertainment activities.

Must be able to speak, read and write English well in order to communicate with military patrons.
