Hiring Criteria

* Security Clearance – Must hold or be eligible to obtain and be in the process of obtaining an Australian National Security clearance at the level of Top Secret (NV2) – individuals who fail to obtain, or retain will be subject to removal * Notwithstanding the above, the PM, IA, MO and 2 of the Comms Ops must hold TS (NV2) unless a waiver is obtained under clause 4.16 of the SOR
* Sound knowledge and skill relevant to their positions/duties regarding the planning and conduct of protective security operations including static guarding, personal security, intelligence, threat assessment and close personal protection in a high risk environment.
* Able to communicate in Pashto/Dari is an advantage
* Skills Desirable for the IA - excellent report writing, presentation and communication skills. Sound knowledge of contemporary intelligence analysis methodology and its practical application. Excellent liaison skills and the ability to develop and maintain an effective network of contacts and sources of information in a foreign environment. Relevant qualifications in the police or military roles or alternatively relevant qualifications or accreditation obtained through a recognized Private sector registered training organization.



* Skills Desirable for the Movements Officer – sound knowledge and familiarity with software programs and databases used to identify, collate analyze and record a range of information, intelligence, and data. Ability to produce accurate reports, schedules and related products to facilitate logistics and operational planning in a high pressure environment. Good presentation and communication skills
* Must have relevant experience for min of 1 year in a high risk environment
* Preferably be ex-military or law enforcement with an excellent record of conduct, must not have a criminal record and must not be dishonorably discharged from any employment.
* Previous Afghanistan experience in a similar capacity would be an advantage

Job Duties

When hired as Intelligence Analyst

* Produce and ensure a high-standard of written and oral analytical briefs to include thematic briefs, individual client briefs and other intelligence products as required by project management.
* Provide daily intelligence reports to the Australian Embassy staff, outlining significant events that have occurred country-wide within the last 24-48 hours.
* Perform the role of Australian Embassy Liaison Officer at the US Embassy Kabul in the Tactical Operations Centre.
* Determine the intelligence requirements of the client and the GardaWorld project staff.
* Take the initiative in identifying other intelligence requirements, and respond to them in an appropriate and timely manner.
* Monitor International as well as Afghanistan and Regional media/websites.
* Open-source reporting on incidents specific to the Afghanistan/Pakistan region that may have an impact on client operations in the area.
* Brief and de-brief GardaWorld project CPP teams and personnel daily, as required by Project management.
* Compile area specific threat assessments for the client.
* Respond to RFIs from the client, or project management.
* Liaise and build relationships with appropriate organisations and other agencies and entities as required.
* Input to the Embassy Movement Planner, and ensure all forecasted venues are vetted by GardaWorld operations.

When hired as Movements Officer

* Produce and ensure a high-standard of data logging entry into the Embassy Movement Sheet.
* Liaise with IO for daily intelligence reports to the Australian Embassy staff, outlining significant events that have occurred country-wide within the last 24-48 hours.
* Perform the role of GardaWorld Liaison Officer at the Australian Embassy Kabul in the Movements Centre.
* Determine the movement and visitor requirements of the client and the GardaWorld project staff.
* Take the initiative in identifying limiting operational requirements, and respond to them in an appropriate and timely manner.
* Brief and de-brief GardaWorld Operations and DFAT RSAs, as required by Project management.
* Respond to RFIs from the client, or project management.
* Liaise and build relationships with appropriate organisations and other agencies and entities as required.
* Provide DFAT RSAs with local ground knowledge when requested.
* Fulfil the role of IO where required.
