FEBR Gates & Barriers Technician, Lead

Overview:

This is a lead position based at Union III in Baghdad, Iraq. The Gates and Barriers lead will assist the Gates and Barriers Supervisor with all pedestrian and vehicular gates and barrier control systems and Guard towers to include any FEBR doors. This position reports to the Gates and Barriers Supervisor. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.

Responsibilities:

DUTIES: - The Gates and Barriers Lead will complete assignments as assigned by the Gates and Barriers supervisor. - Performs gates and barriers and FEBR doors services as required for: - Inspecting, cleaning,
lubricating and performing preventive maintenance (PM) on the physical security electric and hydraulic pedestrian and vehicular control systems, as designed and per manufacturer’s recommendations. - Verification that all gates and barriers are operational and performing maintenance and repairs based on Manufacturer’s requirements and in accordance with the PAE O&M plan. - Trouble-shooting problems, utilizing test equipment and meters, assisting with installation of new electrical and electro-mechanical devices - Submitting reports to the O&M Manager on a scheduled basis - Reports any problems or lack of compliance with the SOP and Matrix of services or O&M plan, to the Gates and Barriers Supervisor and or the O&M Manager - Performs scheduled and unscheduled inspections. - Maintains the appropriate technical library and record-keeping which documents all procedures necessary to accomplish assigned responsibilities - Maintains effective, timely and respectful communication and interaction with other employees, managers, and supports other organizations. - Performs other administrative tasks including material ordering, inventory, work scheduling - Collects, analyzes and summarizes data for report preparation and submits written reports. - Responsible for facility custodianship of work area and management of tools, equipment and spare parts. - Must be able to take initiative to analyze a situation and to make frequent technical decisions based on specifications, safety and electrical codes. - Must be able to evaluate operational effectiveness and develop/maintain effective operational control mechanisms. - Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

EXPERIENCE: - The Gates and Barriers, FEBR Lead will have a minimum of five years general security system maintenance experience with security control equipment and a minimum of five years’ general security operations and maintenance (O&M) experience in an overseas setting. - Knowledge of applicable U.S. Codes and accepted trade practices. - Knowledge and experience regarding occupational hazards and related safety precautions associated with security gates and barriers systems and equipment. - Must have good organizational and communication skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently.

REQUIRED: - Education: A high school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an Apprentice program with a Journeyman Electrician Certificate or equivalent. - Security Vetting: Must be able to obtain an MRPT. Must maintain eligibility at the required security level for the duration of the contract. - Language Skills: Strong professional English communication skills, both oral and written. - Citizenship: US Citizenship is not required for this position. - Medical: Favorable passage of a drug screen and physical examination. - Driver’s license: current in Home of Record


DESIRED: - Relevant overseas security controls and systems repair experience - Training and experience with manufacturer security controls systems and equipment is highly desired - Experience working with PAE. - Experience working with Contracts, sub-contractors, budgets, estimating, working drawings and as-builts. - Strong Hydraulic systems background


OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: - Knowledge of ALL principles and processes involved in operating and maintaining security gates and barrier systems at an overseas facility - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer services. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules. - Cross-cultural sensitivity with an international perspective. - Excellent organizational and time management skills. - Expert computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel. - Ability to become an active and functioning member of a team. - Must have the ability to be innovative and be an agent for change. - Expert communication skills to facilitate and disseminate information.
